Abstract

A file system storing an executive program and a plurality of modules such that when the executive program is executed by a processor the executive program controls the plurality of modules. The modules include a plurality of test modules for executing a specific individual test to test a cognitive attribute of a user; a plurality of test batteries having one or more specified test modules, at least one registration module for registering each of the plurality of users; a plurality of interpretive modules for interpreting results of the test batteries; and at least one report module for immediately generating a cognitive status report for reporting the test battery results as determined by the plurality of interpretive modules.

What is claimed: 
     
         1 . A computer system for testing cognitive attributes of a user to detect neurological and mood disorders comprising:
 a non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing an executive program and a plurality predetermined test batteries; and   a processor to execute the executive program to:   register a user in response to user related input data;   present to the registered user a selected test battery of the plurality of test batteries to test neurological and mood disorder related cognitive attributes of the user, wherein the test battery comprises one or more of a plurality of tests, each of the plurality of tests configured to test a specific neurological or mood disorder related cognitive attribute of the user, and wherein each of the plurality of tests cause the processor to generate test stimuli, present the test stimuli to the user via an output device, receive at least one response to the test stimuli from the user via an input device, determine if the at least one response to the test stimuli is an impulsive response performed within a predetermined response time, wherein the predetermined response time is quicker than a normal human reaction time period measured by the processor from the time the stimuli was presented to the user to the at least one response, and store the at least one response in the non-transitory computer readable medium only when the at least one response is determined not to be an impulsive response;   interpret a result of each of the plurality of tests to determine a result of the test battery by comparing the result of each test with normative data, a previous test result of the user for each test and a passing criterion for each test; and   immediately after interpreting the results, generate a cognitive status report for reporting the user's test battery results.   
     
     
         2 . The computer system of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of tests comprise one or more of a code substitution test, a logical relations test, a mood scale test, a mathematical processing test, a matrix rotation test, a matching to sample test, a running memory test, a simple reaction time test, a sleep scale test, and a memory search test. 
     
     
         3 . The computer system of  claim 1 , wherein the test battery is for testing readiness to stand duty of the user. 
     
     
         4 . The computer system of  claim 1 , wherein the test battery is a NeuroCognitive test battery comprising a sleep scale test, a mood scale test, a simple reaction time test, a code substitution test, a mathematical processing test, a matching to sample test, a logical relations test, a code substitution test and a memory search test. 
     
     
         5 . The computer system of  claim 1 , wherein the test battery is a commander test battery for testing the user's ability to sustain levels of one or more of concentration, working memory and mental efficiency. 
     
     
         6 . The computer system of  claim 5 , wherein the commander test battery comprises a sleep scale test, a simple reaction time test, and a running memory test. 
     
     
         7 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium to tangibly store instructions, which when executed by a computer cause the computer to:
 register a user in response to user related input data;   present to the registered user a selected test battery stored in the non-transitory computer readable storage medium and used to test neurological and mood disorder related cognitive attributes of the user, wherein the test battery comprises one or more of a plurality of tests, each of the plurality of tests configured to test a specific neurological or mood disorder related cognitive attribute of the user, and wherein each of the plurality of tests cause the computer to generate test stimuli, present the test stimuli to the user via an output device, receive at least one response to the test stimuli from the user via an input device, determine if the at least one response to the test stimuli is an impulsive response performed within a predetermined response time, wherein the predetermined response time is quicker than a normal human reaction time period measured by the processor from the time the stimuli was presented to the user to the at least one response, and store the at least one response in the non-transitory computer readable medium only when the at least one response is determined not to be an impulsive response;   interpret a result of each of the plurality of tests to determine a result of the test battery by comparing the result of each test with normative data, a previous test result of the user for each test and a passing criterion for each test; and   immediately after interpreting the results, generate a cognitive status report for reporting the user's test battery results.

The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of  claim 7 , wherein the plurality of tests comprise one or more of a code substitution test, a logical relations test, a mood scale test, a mathematical processing test, a matrix rotation test, a matching to sample test, a running memory test, a simple reaction time test, a sleep scale test, and a memory search test. 
     
     
         9 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of  claim 7 , wherein the test battery is for testing readiness to stand duty of the user.

The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of  claim 7 , wherein the test battery is a NeuroCognitive test battery comprising a sleep scale test, a mood scale test, a simple reaction time test, a code substitution test, a mathematical processing test, a matching to sample test, a logical relations test, a code substitution test and a memory search test. 
     
     
         11 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of  claim 7 , wherein the test battery is a commander test battery for testing the user's ability to sustain levels of one or more of concentration, working memory and mental efficiency. 
     
     
         12 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of  claim 11 , wherein the commander test battery comprises a sleep scale test, a simple reaction time test, and a running memory test. 
     
     
         13 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium to tangibly store instructions, which when executed by a computer cause the computer to:
 register a user in response to user related input data;   present to the registered user a selected test battery stored in the non-transitory computer readable storage medium and used to test neurological and mood disorder related cognitive attributes of the user, wherein the test battery comprises one or more of a plurality of tests, wherein one of the plurality of tests comprises retraining eye-hand-psychomotor coordination of the user and each of the remaining plurality of tests are configured to test a specific neurological or mood disorder related cognitive attribute of the user, and wherein each of the plurality of tests cause the computer to generate test stimuli, present the test stimuli to the user via an output device, receive at least one response to the test stimuli from the user via an input device, determine if the at least one response to the test stimuli is an impulsive response performed within a predetermined response time, wherein the predetermined response time is quicker than a normal human reaction time period measured by the processor from the time the stimuli was presented to the user to the at least one response, and store the at least one response in the non-transitory computer readable medium only when the at least one response is determined not to be an impulsive response;   interpret a result of each of the plurality of tests to determine a result of the test battery by comparing the result of each of the plurality of tests with normative data, a previous test result of the user for each test and a passing criterion for each test; and   immediately after interpreting the results, generate a cognitive status report for reporting the user's test battery results.   
     
     
         14 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium to tangibly store instructions, which when executed by a computer cause the computer to:
 register a user in response to user related input data;   present to the registered user a selected test battery stored in the non-transitory computer readable storage medium and used to test neurological and mood disorder related cognitive attributes of the user, wherein the test battery comprises one or more of a plurality of tests, wherein one of the plurality of tests comprises assessing how the user feels with respect to alertness or sleepiness and each of the remaining plurality of tests are configured to test a specific neurological or mood disorder related cognitive attribute of the user, and wherein each of the plurality of tests cause the computer to generate test stimuli, present the test stimuli to the user via an output device, receive at least one response to the test stimuli from the user via an input device, determine if the at least one response to the test stimuli is an impulsive response performed within a predetermined response time, wherein the predetermined response time is quicker than a normal human reaction time period measured by the processor from the time the stimuli was presented to the user to the at least one response, and store the at least one response in the non-transitory computer readable medium only when the at least one response is determined not to be an impulsive response;   interpret a result of each of the plurality of tests to determine a result of the test battery by comparing the result of each of the plurality of tests with normative data, a previous test result of the user for each test and a passing criterion for each test module; and   immediately after interpreting the results, generate a cognitive status report for reporting the user's test battery results.   
     
     
         15 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium to tangibly store instructions, which when executed by a computer cause the computer to:
 register a user in response to user related input data;   present to the registered user a selected test battery stored in the non-transitory computer readable storage medium and used to test neurological and mood disorder related cognitive attributes of the user, wherein the test battery comprises one or more of a plurality of tests, wherein one of the plurality of tests comprises instructing the user to read and calculate from left to right and each of the remaining plurality of tests are configured to test a specific neurological or mood disorder related cognitive attribute of the user, and wherein each of the plurality of tests cause the computer to generate test stimuli, present the test stimuli to the user via an output device, receive at least one response to the test stimuli from the user via an input device, determine if the at least one response to the test stimuli is an impulsive response performed within a predetermined response time, wherein the predetermined response time is quicker than a normal human reaction time period measured by the processor from the time the stimuli was presented to the user to the at least one response, and store the at least one response in the non-transitory computer readable medium only when the at least one response is determined not to be an impulsive response;   interpret a result of each of the plurality of tests to determine a result of the test battery by comparing the result of each of the plurality of tests with normative data, a previous test result of the user for each test and a passing criterion for each test; and   immediately after interpreting the results, generate a cognitive status report for reporting the user's test battery results.   
     
     
         16 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium to tangibly store instructions, which when executed by a computer cause the computer to:
 register a user in response to user related input data;   present to the registered user a selected test battery stored in the non-transitory computer readable storage medium and used to test neurological and mood disorder related cognitive attributes of the user, wherein the test battery comprises one or more of a plurality of tests, wherein one of the plurality of tests comprises instructing the user to match a block pattern from memory and each of the remaining plurality of tests are configured to test a specific neurological or mood disorder related cognitive attribute of the user, and wherein each of the plurality of tests cause the computer to generate test stimuli, present the test stimuli to the user via an output device, receive at least one response to the test stimuli from the user via an input device, determine if the at least one response to the test stimuli is an impulsive response performed within a predetermined response time, wherein the predetermined response time is quicker than a normal human reaction time period measured by the processor from the time the stimuli was presented to the user to the at least one response, and store the at least one response in the non-transitory computer readable medium only when the at least one response is determined not to be an impulsive response;   interpret a result of each of the plurality of tests to determine a result of the test battery by comparing the result of each of the plurality of tests with normative data, a previous test result of the user for each test and a passing criterion for each test; and   immediately after interpreting the results, generate a cognitive status report for reporting the user's test battery results.   
     
     
         17 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium to tangibly store instructions, which when executed by a computer cause the computer to:
 register a user in response to user related input data;   present to the registered user a selected test battery stored in the non-transitory computer readable storage medium and used to test neurological and mood disorder related cognitive attributes of the user, wherein the test battery comprises one or more of a plurality of tests, wherein one of the plurality of tests comprises instructing the user to view a memory set until the memory set is memorized and to compare displayed letters to the memorized memory set and each of the remaining plurality of tests are configured to test a specific neurological or mood disorder related cognitive attribute of the user, and wherein each of the plurality of tests cause the computer to generate test stimuli, present the test stimuli to the user via an output device, receive at least one response to the test stimuli from the user via an input device, determine if the at least one response to the test stimuli is an impulsive response performed within a predetermined response time, wherein the predetermined response time is quicker than a normal human reaction time period measured by the processor from the time the stimuli was presented to the user to the at least one response, and store the at least one response in the non-transitory computer readable medium only when the at least one response is determined not to be an impulsive response;   interpret a result of each of the plurality of tests to determine a result of the test battery by comparing the result of each of the plurality of tests with normative data, a previous test result of the user for each test and a passing criterion for each test; and   immediately after interpreting the results, generate a cognitive status report for reporting the user's test battery results.   
     
     
         18 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium to tangibly store instructions, which when executed by a computer cause the computer to:
 register a user in response to user related input data;   present to the registered user a selected test battery stored in the non-transitory computer readable storage medium and used to test neurological and mood disorder related cognitive attributes of the user, wherein the test battery comprises one or more of a plurality of tests, wherein one of the plurality of tests comprises instructing the user to rate words representing six mood categories and each of the remaining plurality of tests are configured to test a specific neurological or mood disorder related cognitive attribute of the user, and wherein each of the plurality of tests cause the computer to generate test stimuli, present the test stimuli to the user via an output device, receive at least one response to the test stimuli from the user via an input device, determine if the at least one response to the test stimuli is an impulsive response performed within a predetermined response time, wherein the predetermined response time is quicker than a normal human reaction time period measured by the processor from the time the stimuli was presented to the user to the at least one response, and store the at least one response in the non-transitory computer readable medium only when the at least one response is determined not to be an impulsive response;   interpret a result of each of the plurality of tests to determine a result of the test battery by comparing the result of each of the plurality of tests with normative data, a previous test result of the user for each test and a passing criterion for each test; and   immediately after interpreting the results, generate a cognitive status report for reporting the user's test battery results.   
     
     
         19 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium to tangibly store instructions, which when executed by a computer cause the computer to:
 register a user in response to user related input data;   present to the registered user a selected test battery stored in the non-transitory computer readable storage medium and used to test neurological and mood disorder related cognitive attributes of the user, wherein the test battery comprises one or more of a plurality of tests, wherein one of the plurality of tests comprises instructing the user to determine when a first grid is the same or different from a second grid and each of the remaining plurality of tests are configured to test a specific neurological or mood disorder related cognitive attribute of the user, and wherein each of the plurality of tests cause the computer to generate test stimuli, present the test stimuli to the user via an output device, receive at least one response to the test stimuli from the user via an input device, determine if the at least one response to the test stimuli is an impulsive response performed within a predetermined response time, wherein the predetermined response time is quicker than a normal human reaction time period measured by the processor from the time the stimuli was presented to the user to the at least one response, and stored the at least one response in the non-transitory computer readable medium only when the at least one response is determined not to be an impulsive response;   interpret a result of each of the plurality of tests to determine a result of the test battery by comparing the result of each of the plurality of tests with normative data, a previous test result of the user for each test and a passing criterion for each test; and   immediately after interpreting the results, generate a cognitive status report for reporting the user's test battery results.   
     
     
         20 . The computer system of  claim 19 , wherein the plurality of tests comprise one or more of a code substitution test, a logical relations test, a mood scale test, a mathematical processing test, a matrix rotation test, a matching to sample test, a running memory test, a simple reaction time test, a sleep scale test, and a memory search test, and wherein the test battery is for testing a user for at least one of readiness to stand duty and ability to sustain levels of one or more of concentration, working memory and mental efficiency.
