Abstract

An apparatus is for an elongated architectural molding. The apparatus includes an elongated tier support configured to supportably receive, at least in part, the elongated architectural molding. The elongated tier support includes a first portion integrally extending from the elongated tier support. The elongated tier support also includes a second portion integrally extending from the elongated tier support. The second portion is spaced apart from the first portion. A first stand-off portion integrally extends from the first portion. A second stand-off portion integrally extends from the second portion. The second stand-off portion is spaced apart from the first stand-off portion. This is done in such a way that the elongated architectural molding is positionable between the first stand-off portion and the second stand-off portion.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified

An apparatus for positioning and stacking pieces of elongated architectural molding in a confined space followed by application of paint to the pieces of architectural molding once the pieces of elongated architectural molding are positioned and stacked followed by installation of the pieces of elongated architectural molding to an architectural building, the apparatus comprising:
 an elongated tier support being configured to supportably receive, at least in part, the pieces of elongated architectural molding, and the elongated tier support including:
 a first portion integrally extending from the elongated tier support;
 a second portion integrally extending from the elongated tier support, and the second portion being spaced apart from the first portion;
 a first stand-off portion integrally extending from the first portion; and
 a second stand-off portion integrally extending from the second portion, and the second stand-off portion being spaced apart from the first stand-off portion in such a way that the pieces of elongated architectural molding are positionable between the first stand-off portion and the second stand-off portion; and
   wherein the elongated tier support is configured to be one of a plurality of elongated tier supports positioned one over the other along a vertical direction relative to a working surface; and wherein the plurality of elongated tier supports are horizontally unsupported, from side-to-side, once the plurality of elongated tier supports are positioned one over the other along the vertical direction relative to the working surface; and whereby once the plurality of elongated tier supports are formed, the plurality of elongated tier supports supportably receives, at least in part, the pieces of elongated architectural molding, and the pieces of elongated architectural molding, in use, dry after being painted while supportably received by the plurality of elongated tier supports; and wherein at least one of the plurality of elongated tier supports is configured to operatively connect with a footing assembly; and wherein the footing assembly is configured to improve stable orientation and positioning of the elongated tier support once the elongated tier support is positioned on the working surface; and wherein the plurality of elongated tier supports includes:
 a tiered-stacked framework for continued stacking and painting of the pieces of elongated architectural molding within a reduced square footage; and
 the tiered-stacked framework includes:
 a first tiered-stacked framework; and
 a second tiered-stacked framework that is spaced apart from the first tiered-stacked framework; and
 the first tiered-stacked framework and the second tiered-stacked framework each forms a receiving channel configured to receive the pieces of elongated architectural molding that extend between the first tiered-stacked framework and the second tiered-stacked framework; and
 whereby the pieces of elongated architectural molding, in use, dry, after being painted while being positioned in and being supported by the tiered-stacked framework.

         2 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein:
 the elongated tier support is configured to be one of the plurality of elongated tier supports one over the other along the vertical direction in such a way as to form part of the tiered-stacked framework.

         3 . The apparatus of  claim 2 , wherein:
 the first stand-off portion and the second stand-off portion are each configured to contact an adjacently positioned vertically-stacked row of the tiered-stacked framework.

         4 . (canceled)

         5 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein:
 the first portion and the second portion integrally extend from respective opposite end sections of the elongated tier support.

         6 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein:
 the elongated tier support is configured to extend horizontally.

         7 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein:
 the first stand-off portion is configured to extend vertically.

         8 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein:
 the second stand-off portion is configured to extend vertically.

         9 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein:
 the footing assembly configured to operatively connect with an end section of the elongated tier support, and the footing assembly is configured to further improve stable orientation and positioning of the elongated tier support once the elongated tier support is positioned on the working surface.

         10 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein:
 the elongated tier support includes:
 a third portion positioned between the first portion and the second portion; and
 a third stand-off portion extending from the third portion, and the third stand-off portion configured to support a midsection of the elongated tier support.

         11 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein:
 each vertically-stacked row is spatially positioned, one over the other, along the vertical direction relative to the working surface in such a way that the elongated tier support, in use, forms part of the tiered-stacked framework; the tiered-stacked framework includes the plurality of elongated tier supports stacked one above the other in a contact arrangement; the first stand-off portion and the second stand-off portion are each configured to contact an adjacently positioned vertically-stacked row of the tiered-stacked framework; the first stand-off portion and the second stand-off portion of each instance of the elongated tier support are positioned in such a way that the receiving channel is formed between each said instance of the elongated tier support between each row of the tiered-stacked framework.
