Hair wrap devices and methods

Abstract

The present disclosure provides devices and methods for wrapping and curling hair. For example, a hair wrap may comprise a first flexible tube that at least partially surrounds the user's head, wherein the first flexible tube comprises a first end, a second end, and a flat portion configured to surround the top of the user's head, forming material disposed inside the first flexible tube, and a connecting mechanism configured to operatively couple the first end and the second end.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A hair wrap for a user's head comprising:
 a first flexible tube that at least partially surrounds the user's head proximate the hairline, wherein the first flexible tube comprises a first end, a second end, and a flat portion disposed between the first end and the second end;   a forming material disposed inside the first flexible tube, the forming material being configured to retain heat and wick moisture from the user's hair; and   a connecting mechanism configured to operatively couple the first end and the second end such that the first flexible tube comprises an elliptical shape.   
     
     
         2 . The hair wrap of  claim 1 , wherein the forming material is configured to form at least a portion of the first flexible tube into a cylindrical shape. 
     
     
         3 . The hair wrap of  claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first end and the second end is configured to reversibly open and close. 
     
     
         4 . The hair wrap of  claim 1 , further comprising a diameter-adjusting mechanism. 
     
     
         5 . The hair wrap of  claim 4 , wherein at least one of the connecting mechanism and the diameter adjusting mechanism is coupled to the flat portion. 
     
     
         6 . The hair wrap of  claim 1 , further comprising a heating element in connection with the forming material. 
     
     
         7 . The hair wrap of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a second band, wherein the second band comprises a second flexible tube, the forming material disposed inside the second flexible tube, a second band left end, and a second band right end;   a left connecting mechanism configured to detachably connect a left side of the first flexible tube with the second band left end; and   a right connecting mechanism configured to detachably connect a right side of the first flexible tube with the second band right end.   
     
     
         8 . The hair wrap of  claim 7 , wherein the forming material is configured to form at least a portion of the second band into a cylindrical shape. 
     
     
         9 . The hair wrap of  claim 8 , further comprising:
 a third band, wherein the third band comprises a third flexible tube, the forming material disposed inside the third flexible tube, a third band left end, and a third band right end, and wherein the left connecting mechanism is configured to detachably connect the left side of the first flexible tube with the third band left end, and the right connecting mechanism is configured to detachably connect the right side of the hair wrap and the third band right end.   
     
     
         10 . The hair wrap of  claim 9 , wherein the forming material is configured to form at least a portion of the third band into a cylindrical shape. 
     
     
         11 . A method for wrapping hair, comprising:
 providing a hair wrap, wherein the hair wrap comprises an elliptical, first flexible tube having an interior side and an exterior side;   placing the hair wrap on a user's head proximate the user's hairline such that the interior side abuts the user's head, and such that the hair extends over the exterior side and below the hair wrap;   separating a first portion of hair; and   wrapping the first portion of hair at least 360 degrees in transversely around the first flexible tube.   
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 11 , further comprising twisting the first portion of hair. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 12 , further comprising securing the user's hair with at least one hair pin. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 13 , wherein the first portion of hair is disposed on the left anterior side of the user's head and the first portion of hair is wrapped in a counter-clockwise direction, and further comprising:
 separating a second portion of hair from the left side of the user's head and posterior to the first portion of hair;   joining the first portion of hair and the second portion of hair;   repeating the steps of twisting, wrapping, separating, and joining until all of the user's hair disposed left of a user's sagittal plane has been wrapped around the hair wrap at least once;   separating a third portion of hair from the right anterior side of the user's head;   twisting the third portion of hair;   wrapping the third portion of hair at least 360 degrees transversely around the first flexible tube in a clockwise direction;   separating a fourth portion of hair from the right side of the user's head and posterior to the third portion of hair;   joining the third portion of hair and the fourth portion of hair;   repeating the four immediately preceding steps of twisting, wrapping, separating, and joining until all of the user's hair disposed right of the sagittal plane has been wrapped around the first flexible tube at least once; and   joining any hair not yet wrapped around the first flexible tube and wrapping it around the first flexible tube.   
     
     
         15 . A method for wrapping hair, comprising:
 providing a hair wrap, wherein the hair wrap comprises an elliptical, first flexible tube having an interior side and an exterior side, and a second band extending laterally between a left side of the first flexible tube and a right side of the first flexible tube;   placing the hair wrap on a user's head proximate the user's hairline;   separating a first portion of hair; and   wrapping the first portion of hair at least 360 degrees transversely around the first flexible tube.   
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 15 , wherein in response to the placing the hair wrap, the interior side abuts the user's head, and the hair extends over the exterior side and below the hair wrap and further comprising:
 separating a crown section of the user's hair;   disposing the crown section radially inward of the first flexible tube;   wrapping the crown section of hair at least 360 degrees transversely around the second band.   
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 16 , further comprising twisting the first portion of hair. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 16 , further comprising:
 separating a second portion of hair;   joining the first portion of hair and the second portion of hair;   twisting the joined portions of hair;   wrapping the joined portions of hair at least 360 degrees transversely around the first flexible tube;   repeating the steps of separating, joining, twisting, and wrapping until all of the user's hair has been wrapped around the first flexible tube at least once.   
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 15 , wherein in response to the placing the hair wrap, a portion of the hair is disposed between the user's head and the interior side, and the hair extends below the hair wrap and further comprising:
 separating a crown section of the user's hair;   disposing the crown section radially inward of the first flexible tube;   wrapping the crown section of hair at least 360 degrees transversely around the second band.   
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 19 , further comprising twisting the first portion of hair. 
     
     
         21 . The method of  claim 19 , further comprising:
 separating a second portion of hair;   joining the first portion of hair and the second portion of hair;   twisting the joined portions of hair;   wrapping the joined portions of hair at least 360 degrees transversely around the first flexible tube;   repeating the steps of separating, joining, twisting, and wrapping until all of the user's hair has been wrapped around the first flexible tube at least once.
