Claims

Abstract

An information processing apparatus that acquires first image data captured by a first image capturing unit; acquires second image data captured by a second image capturing unit; controls a display to operate in a first mode in which the first and second images are simultaneously displayed; controls the display to operate in a second mode in which a relationship of the second image with the first image is indicated; and selects between at least the first and second modes based on a predetermined condition.

         2 . An imaging apparatus comprising:
 a first image capturing device;   a second image capturing device disposed at a different position than that of the first imaging capturing device; and   processing circuitry configured to:   generate a first image captured by the first image capturing device and a second image captured by the second image capturing device,   display, in a first mode, the second image on a portion of a display screen in an overlapping manner on the first image, and display, in a second mode, the first image adjacent to the second image, and   control, in the first mode, a position and a size of the second image on a display screen corresponding to a user operation and control, in the first mode, a position of the second image on a display screen corresponding to a position of a photographic subject in the first image in case that a predetermined photographic subject in the first image is detected,   wherein, in the second mode, no photographic subject image is displayed in a first area, above the first and second image, of the display screen and a second area, below the first and second image, of the display screen.   
     
     
         3 . The imaging apparatus of  claim 2 , wherein, in the first mode, a zoom magnified second image is displayed in the portion of the display screen based on a zoom operation. 
     
     
         4 . The imaging apparatus of  claim 2 , wherein the processing circuitry is configured to control an image capturing range of the second image corresponding to the zoom operation to display the zoom magnified second image in the portion of the display screen. 
     
     
         5 . The imaging apparatus of  claim 2 , wherein the processing circuitry is configured to modify the size of the portion, in which the second image is displayed, of the display screen based on content of the second image. 
     
     
         6 . The imaging apparatus of  claim 2 , wherein the processing circuitry is configured to change the position of the portion, in which the second image data is displayed, of the display screen based on content of the first image. 
     
     
         7 . The imaging apparatus of  claim 6 , wherein a position of an icon on the display screen is not changed in an event of switching between the first mode and the second mode. 
     
     
         8 . The imaging apparatus of  claim 2 , wherein the processing circuitry is configured to display, in the first mode, the first image on an entirety of the display screen and the second image in the overlapping manner on the portion of the display screen that is less than the entirety of the display screen. 
     
     
         9 . The imaging apparatus of  claim 2 , wherein the first image capturing device is set to first zoom ratio and the second image capturing device is set to a second zoom ratio. 
     
     
         10 . The imaging apparatus of  claim 2 , wherein the processing circuitry is configured to detect a subject in the first image, and wherein the position of the portion of the display screen, displaying the second image, is moved to another position as a result of the detection of the subject in the first image. 
     
     
         11 . The imaging apparatus of  claim 2 , wherein the first image capturing device and the second image capturing device are disposed on a same side of the imaging apparatus. 
     
     
         12 . An imaging method for an imaging device, comprising:
 generating, with circuitry, a first image captured by a first image capturing device and a second image captured by a second image capturing device;   displaying, with the circuitry and in a first mode, the second image on a portion of a display screen in an overlapping manner on the first image, and displaying, in a second mode, the first image adjacent to the second image; and   controlling, with the circuitry and in the first mode, a position and a size of the second image on a display screen corresponding to a user operation and controlling, in the first mode, a position of the second image on a display screen corresponding to a position of a photographic subject in the first image in case that a predetermined photographic subject in the first image is detected,   wherein, in the second mode, no photographic subject image is displayed in a first area, above the first and second image, of the display screen and a second area, below the first and second image, of the display screen.   
     
     
         13 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium encoded with computer-readable instructions thereon that, when executed by processing circuitry, cause the processing circuitry to perform a method comprising:
 generating a first image captured by a first image capturing device and a second image captured by a second image capturing device;   displaying, in a first mode, the second image on a portion of a display screen in an overlapping manner on the first image, and displaying, in a second mode, the first image adjacent to the second image; and   controlling, in the first mode, a position and a size of the second image on a display screen corresponding to a user operation and controlling, in the first mode, a position of the second image on a display screen corresponding to a position of a photographic subject in the first image in case that a predetermined photographic subject in the first image is detected,   wherein, in the second mode, no photographic subject image is displayed in a first area, above the first and second image, of the display screen and a second area, below the first and second image, of the display screen.
