Abstract
A social networking system user is prompted to take an action or is provided with additional information associated with a location where the user has checked-in or has associated with content using a tag. When an input including the check-in or tagged location is received, the social networking system selects one or more actions based on the location, the user, and/or contextual information included in the input. A prompt identifying the one or more of the selected actions is generated and presented to the user.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method comprising:
receiving information about a content item for posting to a social networking system from a user of the social networking system; analyzing contextual information associated with the content item based on the received information about the content item, determining multiple prompt actions for the user based on the analyzed contextual information associated with the content item; generating a user interface to prompt the user to select one of the determined multiple prompt actions; and providing to a user device the user interface, wherein the user interface is configured to present the multiple prompt actions in a display queue.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
determining a likelihood that the user selects a respective prompt action; and arranging the multiple prompt actions in the display queue based on the determined likelihood.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the likelihood that the user selects a respective prompt action is based at least in part on information selected from a group consisting of: user profile information associated with the user, actions performed by the user on the social networking system, actions performed by the user on one or more third party websites, information associated with one or more users of the social networking system connected to the user, a geographic location associated with the user, and any combination thereof.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the received information is associated with the user performing a check-in associated with a geographic location, and the contextual information includes language used in the check-in.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein analyzing contextual information associated with the content item based on the received information about the content item, further comprising:
determining an action relevant to an object associated with the geographic location based in part on the language.
6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
presenting the user interface to one or more additional users of the social networking system connected to the user.
7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
determining multiple prompt actions based on information associated with one or more additional users, the information including user profile information of the one or more additional users; and presenting the determined multiple prompt actions on the user interface.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the multiple prompt actions are selected from a group consisting of: claiming an offer, installing an application, liking a page, accessing on an advertisement, accessing a story describing an action performed by another user of the social networking system, and providing specific information about a post.
9 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing executable computer program instructions for processing depth information, the instructions executable by a processor and causing the processor to perform a method comprising:
receiving information about a content item for posting to a social networking system from a user of the social networking system; analyzing contextual information associated with the content item based on the received information about the content item, determining multiple prompt actions for the user based on the analyzed contextual information associated with the content item; generating a user interface to prompt the user to select one of the determined multiple prompt actions; and providing to a user device the user interface, wherein the user interface is configured to present the multiple prompt actions in a display queue.
10 . The computer readable medium of claim 9 , further comprising:
determining a likelihood that the user selects a respective prompt action; and arranging the multiple prompt actions in the display queue based on the determined likelihood.
11 . The computer readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the likelihood that the user selects a respective prompt action is based at least in part on information selected from a group consisting of: user profile information associated with the user, actions performed by the user on the social networking system, actions performed by the user on one or more third party websites, information associated with one or more users of the social networking system connected to the user, a geographic location associated with the user, and any combination thereof.
12 . The computer readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the received information is associated with the user performing a check-in associated with a geographic location, and the contextual information includes language used in the check-in.
13 . The computer readable medium of claim 12 , wherein analyzing contextual information associated with the content item based on the received information about the content item, further comprising:
determining an action relevant to an object associated with the geographic location based in part on the language.
14 . The computer readable medium of claim 9 , further comprising:
presenting the user interface to one or more additional users of the social networking system connected to the user.
15 . The computer readable medium of claim 9 , further comprising:
determining multiple prompt actions based on information associated with one or more additional users, the information including user profile information of the one or more additional users; and presenting the determined multiple prompt actions on the user interface.
16 . The computer readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the multiple prompt actions are selected from a group consisting of: claiming an offer, installing an application, liking a page, accessing on an advertisement, accessing a story describing an action performed by another user of the social networking system, and providing specific information about a post.
17 . A method comprising:
analyzing contextual information associated with a content item associated with a user of a social networking system; determining multiple prompt actions for the user based on the analyzed contextual information associated with the content item; generating a user interface to prompt the user to select one of the determined multiple prompt actions; and providing to a user device the user interface, wherein the user interface is configured to present the multiple prompt actions in a display queue.
18 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising:
determining a likelihood that the user selects a respective prompt action; and arranging the multiple prompt actions in the display queue based on the determined likelihood.
19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the likelihood that the user selects a respective prompt action is based at least in part on information selected from a group consisting of: user profile information associated with the user, actions performed by the user on the social networking system, actions performed by the user on one or more third party websites, information associated with one or more users of the social networking system connected to the user, a geographic location associated with the user, and any combination thereof.
20 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the contextual information includes language used in a check-in at a geographic location.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
