Abstract
A display device includes a display panel having a display region and a peripheral region, the display panel including a TFT substrate, a counter substrate fixed to the TFT substrate by seal material formed at the peripheral region, and liquid crystal interposed between the TFT substrate and the counter substrate. The TFT substrate includes an inorganic film and an organic film, with first column spacers being formed on the counter substrate. The organic film includes a first part which has an island-like shape formed at the peripheral region and a second part formed at the display region, and the seal material covers at least one of the first column spacers and the first part of the organic film, and is in contact with the inorganic film. The first part of the organic film is separated from the second part of the organic film of the organic film.

a first substrate, an organic film on the first substrate, an inorganic film on the organic film, a second substrate opposed to the first substrate, and a seal material between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the organic film having a first part and a second part, wherein the first part is separated from the second part, wherein the inorganic film covers the first part and the second part.
2 . The display device according to claim 1 , further comprising,
first spacers between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the first part facing the first spacers, wherein a part of the first part are overlapped with the seal material, wherein the first spacers are in contact with the seal material.
3 . The display device according to claim 2 ,
wherein the first substrate having a first electrode and a second electrode, wherein the first electrode and the second electrode are between the organic film and the second substrate.
4 . The display device according to claim 1 ,
wherein the organic film having a third part, wherein the third part is between the first part and the second part, and is separated from the first part and the second part, wherein the seal material is between the first part and the third part.
5 . The display device according to claim 4 ,
wherein second spacers are between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the third part is facing the second spacers.
6 . The display device according to claim 5 ,
wherein a part of the first part and a part of the third part are overlapped with the seal material, wherein the first spacers and the second spacers are in contact with the seal material.
7 . The display device according to claim 1 ,
wherein the first part is closer to an end of the first substrate and an end of the second substrate than the second part and the third part.
8 . A display device comprising:
a first substrate, an organic film and an inorganic film on the first substrate, a second substrate opposed to the first substrate, and a seal material between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the organic film having a first part, a second part is separated from the first part, and a third part is between the first part and the second part, wherein the first part and the second part is thicker than the third part, wherein the inorganic film covers the first part, the second part and the third part.
9 . The display device according to claim 8 , further comprising,
spacers between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the spacers having a first spacer and a second spacer, wherein the first part facing the first spacer, and the second part facing the second spacer, wherein the second spacer is covered by the seal material, and the second part is overlapped with the seal material.
10 . The display device according to claim 9 ,
wherein the first substrate having a first electrode and a second electrode, wherein the first electrode and the second electrode are between the organic film and the second substrate.
11 . The display device according to claim 8 ,
wherein the third part is connected to the second part, wherein the third part is overlapped with the seal material.
12 . A display device comprising:
a first substrate, a first inorganic film on the first substrate, an organic film, a second inorganic film, a first projection, a second projection and a third projection on the first inorganic film, a second substrate opposed to the first substrate, and a seal material between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the first projection is separated from the second projection, wherein the second projection is between the first projection and the third projection, and is separated from the first projection and the third projection, wherein the third projection is separated from the second projection, wherein at least the first projection and the third projection are covered by the second inorganic film.
13 . The display device according to claim 12 ,
wherein the second projection is formed by the organic film, wherein the first projection and the third projection is not formed by the organic film.
14 . The display device according to claim 12 ,
wherein the first projection, the second projection and the third projection are overlapped with the seal material.
15 . The display device according to claim 12 , further comprising,
a spacer between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the spacer facing the second projection.
16 . The display device according to claim 15 ,
wherein the spacer is in contact with the seal material.
