Abstract

The principles set forth herein describe building a product finder. One aspect comprises receiving a request at a computing device to develop a product finder for a specified product category; receiving input at the computing device to configure the product finder, the input comprising data representing product information associated with the specified product category; developing, via a processor accessible by the computing device, the product finder based on an existing template, wherein developing the product finder based on the existing template reduces writing of computer code; and utilizing the input to customize the product finder. Other embodiments are disclosed herein.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A computer-implemented method carried out by one or more processors, the method comprising:
providing, by at least one of the one or more processors, a widget, wherein the widget is defined by computer-readable code and is displayed on a web page displayed on a user device, the webpage including a reference to a product; receiving, by at least one of the one or more processors, data identifying the product from the user device; sending to the user device, by at least one of the one or more processors, product data describing the product; and causing, by at least one of the one or more processors, the product data to be displayed on the user device via the widget.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising causing a map feature to be displayed and via the widget along and wherein the product data comprises data relating to a product location.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the widget is generated by code running in a web browser of the user device.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the widget is displayed in response to a user interaction with the web page.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the product is a digital media product.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the reference to a product is a tag associated with content of the web page.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the web page includes at least one of video content or audio content.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the reference to a product is facial recognition data derived from a face displayed in the web page.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the product data include at least one of a voucher, a coupon, or a ticket.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the product data describes a product genus and further comprising receiving information representing a user selection of at least one product in the product genus and transmitting more specific information describing the at least one product.

11 . Non transitory computer readable media having instructions stored thereon, the instructions, when executed by one or more processors, cause at least one of the one or more processors to:
provide a widget, wherein the widget is defined by computer-readable code and is displayed on a web page displayed on a user device, the webpage including a reference to a product; receive data identifying the product from the user device; send to the user device product data describing the product; and cause the product data to be displayed on the user device via the widget.

12 . Non transitory computer readable media of claim 10 , wherein the instructions further cause a map feature to be displayed and via the widget along and wherein the product data comprises data relating to a product location.

13 . Non transitory computer readable media of claim 10 , wherein the widget is generated by code running in a web browser of the user device.

14 . Non transitory computer readable media of claim 10 , wherein the widget is displayed in response to a user interaction with the web page.

15 . Non transitory computer readable media of claim 10 , wherein the product is a digital media product.

16 . Non transitory computer readable media of claim 10 , wherein the reference to a product is a tag associated with content of the web page.

17 . Non transitory computer readable media of claim 10 , wherein the web page includes at least one of video content or audio content.

18 . Non transitory computer readable media of claim 10 , wherein the reference to a product is facial recognition data derived from a face displayed in the web page.

19 . Non transitory computer readable media of claim 1 , wherein the product data include at least one of a voucher, a coupon, or a ticket.

20 . Non transitory computer readable media of claim 1 , wherein the product data describes a product genus and the instructions further cause receipt of information representing a user selection of at least one product in the product genus and transmitting more specific information describing the at least one product.
