Abstract
A safety rail support for wood framed building construction or structural middle stud framing mounts to a stud for a wooden framed building structure for a horizontal rail to be mounted between a first safety rail support and a second safety rail support. The horizontal rail prevents construction personnel working on the building from falling from a height which could injure or be fatal. The safety rail support includes a stud mount an elongated vertical support, at least one adjustable rail support bracket, and a hanger bracket. The stud mount and the hanger bracket secure the safety rail support to the stud frame of the building structure. The elongated vertical support provides a medium for the forces placed on the horizontal rail to be transferred to the stud of the building structure. The at least one adjustable rail is mounted onto the elongated vertical support in order to support and retain the horizontal rail.

a stud mount; an elongated vertical support; at least one adjustable rail support bracket; a hanger bracket; the elongated vertical support comprises a first support end and a second support end; the first support end being opposite to the second support end along the elongated vertical support; the elongated vertical support being perpendicularly connected to the stud mount, adjacent to the first support end; the at least one adjustable rail support bracket being adjacently connected along the elongated vertical support; the hanger bracket being adjacently connected along the elongated vertical support; and the hanger bracket being oriented towards the stud mount.
2 . The safety rail support for wood framed building construction or structural middle stud framing, as claimed in claim 1 comprises:
the hanger bracket being positioned between the stud mount and the second support end;
the at least one adjustable rail support bracket being positioned between the stud mount and the second support end; and
the at least one adjustable rail support bracket being oriented away from the hanger bracket.
3 . The safety rail support for wood framed building construction or structural middle stud framing, as claimed in claim 1 comprises:
a plurality of positioning apertures;
a plurality of locking fasteners;
the plurality of positioning apertures laterally traversing through the elongated vertical support; and
the plurality of positioning apertures being evenly distributed along the elongated vertical support.
4 . The safety rail support for wood framed building construction or structural middle stud framing, as claimed in claim 3 comprises:
the hanger bracket being positioned adjacent to a selected aperture from the plurality of positioning apertures; and
a locking fastener from the plurality of locking fasteners being engaged with the hanger bracket and the selected aperture.
5 . The safety rail support for wood framed building construction or structural middle stud framing, as claimed in claim 3 comprises:
the at least one adjustable rail support bracket being positioned adjacent to a selected aperture from the plurality of positioning apertures; and
a locking fastener from the plurality of locking fasteners being engaged with a corresponding support bracket from the at least one adjustable rail support bracket and the selected aperture.
6 . The safety rail support for wood framed building construction or structural middle stud framing, as claimed in claim 1 comprises:
the elongated vertical member comprises a first tubular member, a receiving end, a second tubular member, and an insertion end;
the receiving end being positioned opposite to the first support end along the first tubular member;
the insertion end being positioned opposite to the second support end along the second tubular member;
the hanger bracket being positioned between the stud mount and the receiving end; and
the at least one adjustable rail support bracket being positioned between the insertion end and the second support end.
7 . The safety rail support for wood framed building construction or structural middle stud framing, as claimed in claim 6 comprises:
a first plurality of locking apertures;
a second plurality of locking apertures;
a plurality of locking fasteners;
the first plurality of locking apertures laterally traversing through the first tubular member;
the first plurality of locking apertures being distributed along the first tubular member;
the second plurality of locking apertures laterally traversing through the second tubular member; and
the second plurality of locking apertures being distributed along the second tubular member.
8 . The safety rail support for wood framed building construction or structural middle stud framing, as claimed in claim 7 comprises:
the hanger bracket being positioned adjacent to a selected aperture from the first plurality of locking apertures; and
a locking fastener from the plurality of locking fasteners being engaged with the hanger bracket and the selected aperture.
9 . The safety rail support for wood framed building construction or structural middle stud framing, as claimed in claim 7 comprises:
the at least one adjustable rail support bracket being positioned adjacent to a selected aperture from the second plurality of locking apertures; and
a locking fastener from the plurality of locking fasteners being engaged with a corresponding support bracket from the at least one adjustable rail support bracket and the selected aperture.
10 . The safety rail support for wood framed building construction or structural middle stud framing, as claimed in claim 7 comprises:
the insertion end being telescopically engaged to the receiving end;
a selected aperture from the first plurality of locking apertures being positioned adjacent to a selected aperture from the second plurality of locking apertures; and
a locking fastener from the plurality of locking fasteners being engaged with the selected aperture from the first plurality of locking apertures and the selected aperture from the second plurality of locking apertures.
11 . The safety rail support for wood framed building construction or structural middle stud framing, as claimed in claim 6 comprises:
an elongated platform support;
the elongated platform support comprises a tubular receiver;
the elongated platform support being adjacently mounted to first tubular member, adjacent to the stud mount; and
the tubular receiver being mounted perpendicularly to the elongated platform support, opposite to the first tubular member.
12 . The safety rail support for wood framed building construction or structural middle stud framing, as claimed in claim 11 comprises:
the insertion end being selectively engaged to the tubular receiver.
13 . The safety rail support for wood framed building construction or structural middle stud framing, as claimed in claim 11 comprises:
an additional stud brace;
a reinforcement plate;
the additional stud brace being connected adjacent to the elongated platform support, opposite to the first tubular member;
the reinforcement plate being centrally and perpendicularly connected to the additional stud brace;
the reinforcement plate being positioned perpendicular to the elongated platform support; and
the reinforcement plate being orientated towards the stud mount.
14 . The safety rail support for wood framed building construction or structural middle stud framing, as claimed in claim 1 comprises:
the at least one adjustable rail support bracket comprises a rail support member, a rail retaining member and a rail mounting sleeve;
the rail mounting sleeve being slidably engaged with the elongated vertical support;
the rail support member being perpendicularly connected to the rail mounting sleeve;
the rail retaining member being perpendicularly and adjacently connected to the rail support member, opposite to the rail mounting sleeve; and
the rail retaining member being oriented away from the stud mount.
15 . The safety rail support for wood framed building construction or structural middle stud framing, as claimed in claim 14 comprises:
a bracket support;
the bracket support being laterally mounted to the rail mounting sleeve; and
the bracket support being adjacently mounted to the rail support member, opposite to the rail retaining member.
16 . The safety rail support for wood framed building construction or structural middle stud framing, as claimed in claim 1 comprises:
the hanger bracket comprises a stud support member, a stud retaining member and a hanger mounting sleeve;
the hanger mounting sleeve being slidably engaged with the elongated vertical support;
the stud support member being perpendicularly connected to the hanger mounting sleeve;
the stud retaining member being perpendicularly connected to the stud support member, opposite to the hanger mounting sleeve; and
the stud retaining member being oriented towards the stud mount.
17 . The safety rail support for wood framed building construction or structural middle stud framing, as claimed in claim 1 comprises:
at least one horizontal rail;
the at least one horizontal rail engaging the at least one rail support bracket; and
