Deal Based Communications Via Multiple Channel Options
Abstract
Architectures and techniques are described to provide a number of options to exchange information related to deals via a plurality of channels. Each of the communication channels may be utilized to exchange communications about different aspects of acquiring and redeeming deals. The channel options may be related to categories of computing devices, operating systems executed by computing devices, one or more sites, various forms of communication, client device applications, etc. A service provider that offers deals on behalf of merchants may determine one or more options for each communication channel with respect to merchants offering deals and with respect individuals that may participate in deals offered by the service provider. After determining the channel options for a deal offered by a particular merchant and for individuals designated to receive information about the deal, communications with respect to the deal may be exchanged over the channels via certain channel options.

determining that a first individual is participating in a video call, via a client device of the first individual, with a second individual;
providing a user interface to the client device, the user interface including a first portion having at least one of video content or image content of the second individual;

determining that the second individual is included in a second target audience for a second deal offered by the service provider, the second deal being different from the first deal;
causing a second portion of the user interface to display a first link associated with the first deal and a second link associated with the second deal, wherein the first link is selectable to access first information about the first deal and the second link is selectable to access second information about the second deal;
receiving an indication of a first selection of the second link;
providing a second user interface to the client device, the second user interface including the second information and the second information including an option selectable to acquire the second deal;
receiving an indication of a second selection of the option; and
accessing information of an account of the first individual with the service provider to conduct a transaction to acquire the second deal.
3 . The system as recited in claim 2 , wherein the operations further comprise:
receiving an indication of a third selection of the first link; providing a third user interface to the client device, the third user interface including an additional option selectable to acquire the first deal; receiving an indication of a fourth selection of the additional option; and accessing additional information of the account of the first individual with the service provider to conduct an additional transaction to acquire the first deal.
4 . The system as recited in claim 2 , wherein the operations further comprise determining a channel option for the client device to receive the second information, and wherein the second user interface is provided via the channel option.
5 . The system as recited in claim 4 , wherein the channel option is a site of the service provider, a site of a merchant offering the second deal, or a mobile device application.
6 . A method comprising:
determining that a first individual is participating in a video call; determining that the first individual is included in a first target audience for a first deal; causing first information related to the first deal to be displayed on a client device of the first individual during the video call, the first deal being available for acquisition by the first individual; determining that a second individual participating in the video call is included in a second target audience for a second deal; and causing second information related to the second deal to be displayed on the client device of the first individual during the video call, the second deal being available for acquisition by the first individual.
7 . The method as recited in claim 6 , further comprising:
determining a first channel option for the first individual to receive communications including information about deals via the client device; and determining a second channel option for the first individual to receive the communications including information about the deals via the client device.
8 . The method as recited in claim 7 , further comprising:
determining a third channel option for a merchant offering the first deal to provide information about the first deal; and determining that the first channel option corresponds with the third channel option for the merchant.
9 . The method as recited in claim 8 , further comprising determining that the first individual is a member of the target audience for the first deal based at least partly on the first channel option corresponding with the third channel option for the first merchant.
10 . The method as recited in claim 7 , wherein determining the first channel option is based at least partly on hardware components of the client device.
11 . The method as recited in claim 7 , further comprising determining that the first channel option is associated with the first deal based at least partly on a term of the first deal.
12 . The method as recited in claim 6 , wherein determining that the first individual is included in the first target audience for the first deal is based at least partly on an amount of usage of video calling by the individual.
13 . The method as recited in claim 6 , further comprising:
determining a first channel option for the first individual to obtain information via the client device related to acquiring at least one of the first deal or the second deal; and determining a second channel option to conduct a transaction for the first individual to acquire at least one of the first deal or the second deal.
14 . The method as recited in claim 13 , further comprising providing an incentive to the first individual based at least partly on an amount of usage of the first channel option, an amount of usage of the second channel option, or both.
15 . The method as recited in claim 6 , wherein the first target audience includes a first group of individuals having a first set of characteristics and the second target audience includes a second set of individuals having a second set of characteristics different from the first set of characteristics.
16 . A computer-readable storage media storing computer-readable instructions that, when executed, instruct a processor to perform operations comprising:
determining that an individual is participating in a video call; determining that the individual is included in a target audience for a deal; and causing information about the deal to be displayed on a client device of the individual during the video call.
17 . The computer-readable storage media as recited in claim 16 , wherein the operations further comprise:
determining that an additional individual participating in the video call is included in an additional target audience for an additional deal; and causing additional information related to the additional deal to be displayed on the client device of the individual during the video call.
18 . The computer-readable storage media as recited in claim 16 , wherein the operations further comprise:
determining a first channel option for the individual to receive communications including information about deals; and determining a second channel option for the individual to receive the communications including information about deals.
19 . The computer-readable storage media as recited in claim 18 , wherein the first channel option is video calling and the second channel option is a content sharing site.
20 . The computer-readable storage media as recited in claim 19 , wherein the operations further comprise:
obtaining content from an additional client device of an additional individual, wherein the content includes at least one of video content, text content, audio content, or image content; determining that the additional individual shared the content with the individual via the content sharing site; determining that the individual accessed the content; and providing additional information associated with an additional deal to the individual via the content sharing site.
21 . The computer-readable storage media as recited in claim 20 , wherein the operations further comprise:
