Quotation management platform

Abstract

The invention relates to systems and methods for managing quotes. The system may facilitate a user search that relates one or more particular quotes, authors, categories of quotes, specific tag of a quote, and the like. A set of results may be provided based on a user search may be provided. A quote profile and an author profile may be generated providing information about a quote and an author respectively. A user profile page may display information including a user's favorite quotes.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method for managing quotes, the method being implemented on a computer system having one or more physical processors programmed with computer program instructions which, when executed, perform the method, the method comprising:
 receiving, at the computer system, a search criteria including one or more search elements corresponding to one or more quotes stored in a quote database from a user;   executing, by the computer system, a search of the quote database with the one or more search elements;   generating, by the computer system, a result set of one or more quotes that match the search criteria; and   providing, by the computer system, the result set for presentation to the user.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the search elements include a keyword associated with one or more quotes; an author of a quote, a category of quote. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 providing, by the computer system, a user profile page;   wherein the user profile page displays the user's favorite quotes and functions associated with the user's favorite quotes.   
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 3 , wherein the user's favorite quotes includes the quote body text, author attribution, data added to favorites, a link to the quote's page, a link to the author's page, and a share function. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 3 , further comprising:
 providing, by the computer system, a customization interface to enable to the user to customize the font and style of the user's favorite quotes   
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 4 , further comprising:
 providing, by the computer system, the quotes in reverse chronological order based on the dates the user's favorite quotes were marked by the user.   
     
     
         7 . The method according  claim 4 , wherein the share function enables the user to include a personal message and the customizable interface to enable the user to customize the shared quotes. 
     
     
         8 . The method according to  claim 1 , further comprising:
 providing, by the computer system, a browsing interface;   wherein the browsing interface displays one or more categories associated with the one or more quotes.   
     
     
         9 . The method according to  claim 8 , wherein the browsing interface enables the user to search the quote database via different category. 
     
     
         10 . The method according to  claim 8 , further comprising:
 providing one or more historical authors, contemporary authors, and unknown authors for each category.   
     
     
         11 . The method according to  claim 1 ,
 providing, by the computer system, an author page;   wherein the author pages display biographical information about the authors, quotes made by the authors, categories associated with the author.   
     
     
         12 . The method according to  claim 11 , further comprising:
 providing a timeline corresponding to the author;   wherein the timeline includes media elements associated with quotes by the authors and significant events in the author's life.   
     
     
         13 . The method according to  claim 12 , wherein the media elements include an audio file, images, and video files, links to further information related to the author. 
     
     
         14 . A system for managing quotes, the system comprising:
 a computer system having one or more physical processors programmed with computer program instructions to:   receive a search criteria including one or more search elements corresponding to one or more quotes stored in a quote database from a user;   executing a search of the quote database with the one or more search elements;   generate a result set of one or more quotes that match the search criteria; and   provide the result set for presentation to the user.   
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 14 , wherein the processors are further programmed to:
 provide a user profile page;   wherein the user profile page displays the user's favorite quotes and functions associated with the user's favorite quotes.   
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the user's favorite quotes includes the quote body text, author attribution, data added to favorites, a link to the quote's page, a link to the author's page, and a share function. 
     
     
         17 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the processors are further programmed to:
 providing, by the computer system, a customization interface to enable to the user to customize the font and style of the user's favorite quotes.   
     
     
         18 . The system of  claim 14 , wherein the processors are further programmed to:
 providing an author page;   wherein the author pages display biographical information about the authors, quotes made by the authors, categories associated with the author.   
     
     
         19 . The system of  claim 18 , wherein the processors are further programmed to:
 providing a timeline corresponding to the author;   wherein the timeline includes media elements associated with quotes by the authors and significant events in the author's life.   
     
     
         20 . The system according to  claim 19 , wherein the media elements include an audio file, images, and video files, links to further information related to the author.
