Abstract

The invention involves an athletic training apparatus including a platform and mount configurable into multiple variations of striking elements. The various configurations of the device provide a means of training for different exercises and combat strategies. In an exemplary embodiment, the training apparatus may be configured to train for the ground and pound mixed martial arts strategy. Such configuration includes a platform with a spring component that supports a striking element. The platform is further supported by a base coupled to a bottom surface of the platform, wherein the base includes an angle adjustment mechanism for adjusting an angle position of the platform, whereby the striking element may be positioned at a desired angle. In exemplary embodiments, a track receiving member may be implemented with the platform, in order to transform the platform to a standing striking platform, or facilitate the implementation of a hanging striking element.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . An athletic training apparatus, comprising:
 a platform; a spring component protruding from a top surface of the platform; a striking element supported by the spring component protruding from the platform; and a base coupled to the platform, the base including an angle adjustment mechanism for adjusting an angle position of the planar platform.

         2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the adjustment angle mechanism is a variable angle positioning mechanism configured to adjust the platform at multiple angles.

         3 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the adjustment angle mechanism is a static angle positioning mechanism configured to adjust the platform at a predefined angle.

         4 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the base further comprises a track receiving member for mounting the training apparatus substantially parallel to the ground on a mounting structure.

         5 . The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein track receiving member comprises a single track receiving member for engaging with a lateral support structure of the mounting structure.

         6 . The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the track receiving member comprises multiple track receiving members for engaging with a lateral support structure of the mounting structure.

         7 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the platform is octagonal.

         8 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the platform is circular.

         9 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the platform comprises a traction component on an edge of the platform.

         10 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the striking element is a speedbag.

         11 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the striking element is a flat striking element.

         12 . An athletic training assembly, comprising:
 a training apparatus including:
 a platform;
 a spring component protruding from a top surface of the platform;
 a striking element supported by the spring component protruding from the platform;
 a base coupled to the platform, the base including an angle adjustment mechanism for adjusting an angle position of the planar platform; and
   a mounting structure for mounting the training apparatus substantially parallel to the ground.

         13 . The training assembly of claim 12 , wherein the mounting structure comprises a lateral support structure including one or more tracks for engaging with the training apparatus.

         14 . The training assembly of claim 13 , wherein the training apparatus includes one or more track receiving members on the base of the apparatus for engaging with the one or more tracks of the mounting structure.

         15 . The training assembly of claim 13 , wherein the platform of the training apparatus is octagonal.

         16 . The training assembly of claim 13 , wherein the platform of the training apparatus is circular.

         17 . The training assembly of claim 13 , wherein the platform of the training apparatus comprises a traction component on an edge of the platform.

         18 . The training assembly of claim 12 , wherein the striking element of the training apparatus is a flat striking element.

         19 . The training assembly of claim 12 , wherein the striking element of the training apparatus is a speedbag.

         20 . An athletic training assembly, comprising:
 one or more longitudinal support members configured to attach to a vertical support structure of a wall; a lateral support structure removably coupled to the one or more longitudinal support members in a manner so that a height of the lateral support structure may be adjusted; one or more height adjustors for adjusting the height of the lateral support structure; one or more tracks situated on the lateral support structure; and a training apparatus configured to register with the one or more tracks of the lateral support structure, the training apparatus comprising:
 a planar platform;
 a spring support protruding from a top surface of the planar platform;
