Teleprompter on wireless communication device (wcd) for producing media content for website

Abstract

Automated media programming (AMP) systems and methods are provided. In one embodiment of an AMP system, a computer server is communicatively coupled to the Internet and provides a website for enabling uploading of media content, sorting the media content, and downloading the media content. Independent users are permitted to submit, edit, rate, and consume media content over a broadcast media channel or network. In some embodiments of the AMP system, content on the Internet is automatically searched and topics from the searched content are automatically identified. The topics are preferably indicative of currently relevant news or events and are indicative of a type of media content that will be requested for uploading from producers. The AMP system publishes the topics to the producers, receives and stores media content uploaded from the producers that relate to the respective topics, and enable users to select and download the media content.

At least the following is claimed: 
     
         1 . A method for permitting a user of a portable wireless communication device (WCD) having at least a display, camera, and a microphone, to produce media content and to upload the media content to a remote computer system that maintains a website that publishes the media content, the method comprising:
 downloading a plurality of topics;   viewing the plurality of the topics on the display;   selecting a topic that is among the plurality of topics;   creating a text script with a keyboard or microphone;   initiating a mode of operation that permits the WCD user to produce the media content that includes a video with audio related to the selected topic, as follows:
 displaying the script on the display; and 
 capturing the media content from the WCD user using the camera and the microphone as the WCD user reads the script on the display; and 
   uploading the media content related to the selected topic for ultimate publication on the website.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising changing a size of the script. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising causing the script to move horizontally or vertically on the display. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the keyboard is a software based keyboard that is displayed on the display. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the keyboard is a hardware peripheral on the WCD. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 causing the captured media content to be stored in a memory associated with the WCD; and   uploading the media content from the memory to another memory associated with the remote computer system.   
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 opening a user account on the website; and   uploading user account information associated with the user account when the media content is uploaded so that the remote computer system can associate the media content with the user account.   
     
     
         8 . A portable wireless communication device (WCD), comprising:
 a display;   a camera;   a microphone;   one or more memories that store computer program code; and   one or more processors that execute the computer program code, the computer program code comprising:
 code that downloads topics from a remote computer system that produces and maintains a website that publishes media content; 
 code that displays the topics on the display; 
 code that enables a WCD user to select a topic; 
 code that enables the WCD user to create a text script using the microphone or a keyboard associated with the WCD; 
 code that permits the WCD user to produce media content having a video with audio related to the selected topic by displaying the script on the display and capturing the media content of the WCD user using the camera and the microphone as the WCD user reads the script on the display; and 
 code that enables the WCD user to upload the media content related to the selected topic for ultimate publication of the media content on the website. 
   
     
     
         9 . The WCD of  claim 8 , wherein the computer program code further comprises code that enables the WCD user to change a size of the script. 
     
     
         10 . The WCD of  claim 8 , wherein the computer program code further comprises code that enables the WCD user to move the script horizontally or vertically on the display. 
     
     
         11 . The WCD of  claim 8 , wherein the input device is a keyboard and the keyboard is a software based keyboard that is displayed on the display. 
     
     
         12 . The WCD of  claim 8 , wherein the input device is a keyboard and the keyboard is a hardware peripheral on the WCD. 
     
     
         13 . The WCD of  claim 8 , wherein the media content is stored in a memory associated with the WCD and is uploaded from the memory to another memory associated with the remote computer system. 
     
     
         14 . The WCD of  claim 8 , wherein the computer program code further comprises:
 code that enables the WCD user to open a user account at the website; and   code that uploads user account information associated with the user account with the uploaded media content.   
     
     
         15 . A portable wireless communication device (WCD) that produces media content and uploads the media content to a remote computer system that maintains an automated media programming (AMP) website that publishes the media content, comprising:
 means for downloading topics;   means for outputting the topics to a user with an output means;   means for enabling a user to select a topic with an input means;   means for enabling the user to create a script by entering text with the input means;   means for enabling the user to produce the media content that includes a video with audio related to the selected topic by communicating the script to the user with the output means and capturing the media content as the user reads the script using input means; and   means for uploading the media content related to the selected topic for ultimate publication on the AMP website.   
     
     
         16 . The WCD of  claim 15 , further comprising:
 means for enabling the user to open a user account at the AMP website; and   means for uploading user account information associated with the user account with the uploaded media content.
