Context-Sensitive and Shared Location Based Reminders

Abstract

Methods and apparatuses for providing reminders are disclosed. In one example, reminders are shared across devices. In one example methods and apparatuses are provided which identify when a subscribing device of a plurality of subscribing devices is at or in proximity to a reminder location, and outputting the reminder message at the subscribing device.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method comprising:
 receiving a user voice communication;   processing the user voice communication to identify a reminder location and a reminder message, wherein processing the user voice communication to identify a reminder location and a reminder message comprises identifying a location role or category from the user voice communication, wherein the reminder location is any one of multiple locations satisfying the location role or category; and   outputting the reminder message when a current location is the reminder location.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein processing the user voice communication to identify a reminder location and a reminder message comprises identifying a location role or category from the user voice communication, wherein the reminder location is any one of multiple locations satisfying the location role or category. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein processing the user voice communication to identify a reminder location and a reminder message comprises identifying a specific location from a generic location provided in the user voice communication. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 3 , wherein identifying the specific location comprises processing a history of visited locations. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising outputting a follow up query to request narrowing of a reminder location. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein outputting the reminder message comprises outputting a text message. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein outputting the reminder message comprises outputting the user voice communication. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the user voice communication is received at a first device, the method further comprising outputting the reminder message at a second device when a second device current location is the reminder location.
