Abstract

System and methods are disclosed that attempt to verify data related to a parcel against mapping and addressing data. If the data cannot be verified, then an enhanced normalization process may be performed. The enhanced normalization process may attempt to group the parcel with some other parcels based on parcel characteristics. If the grouping is successful, then normalization may be performed on the grouping. Normalization may involve checking whether the grouping satisfies a set of grouping criteria.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising at least one instruction for causing a processor to perform operations, comprising:
code for identifying a parcel associated with parcel identification information that does not match one or more of parcel mapping data associated with the parcel and parcel addressing data associated with the parcel; code for grouping the parcel with at least one other parcel that shares at least one parcel characteristic; code for determining whether the parcel and the at least one other parcel satisfy at least one grouping criteria; and code for storing the parcel and the at least one other parcel in at least one data repository in response to a determination that the parcel and the at least one other parcel satisfy the at least one grouping criteria.

2 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the parcel mapping data includes geographic information systems data that is obtained from one or more of NAVTEQ, Google, TomTom, HERE, and Apple.

3 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the parcel addressing data includes mailing address data associated with real estate property data.

4 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the at least one parcel characteristic is one or more of a street name, zip code, or county name.

5 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the at least one grouping criteria comprises a wilderness area classification, and the at least one grouping criteria is satisfied if the parcel and the at least one other parcel are both in a wilderness area.

6 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the at least one grouping criteria comprises a distance between parcels, and the at least one grouping criteria is satisfied if the distance between parcels is below a threshold distance.

7 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the at least one grouping criteria comprises a number of parcels, and the at least one grouping criteria is satisfied if a number of the at least one other parcel is greater than a threshold number.

8 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the at least one grouping criteria comprises a house number analysis check, and the at least one grouping criteria is satisfied if a house number sequence associated with the parcel and the at least one other parcel is consistent.

9 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the at least one grouping criteria comprises a polygon analysis check, and the at least one grouping criteria is satisfied if a polygon that connects or encloses the parcel and the at least one other parcel is below a polygon size threshold.

         10 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 1 , further comprising:
code for identifying a parcel associated with parcel identification information that matches one or more of parcel mapping data associated with the parcel and addressing data associated with the parcel; and code for storing the parcel in the at least one data repository in response to a determination that the parcel identification information matches one or more of the parcel mapping data associated with the parcel and the addressing data associated with the parcel.

         11 . A method comprising:
identifying a parcel associated with parcel identification information that does not match one or more of parcel mapping data associated with the parcel and parcel addressing data associated with the parcel; grouping the parcel with at least one other parcel that shares at least one parcel characteristic; determining whether the parcel and the at least one other parcel satisfy at least one grouping criteria; and storing the parcel and the at least one other parcel in at least one data repository in response to a determination that the parcel and the at least one other parcel satisfy the at least one grouping criteria.

12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the parcel mapping data includes geographic information systems data that is obtained from one or more of NAVTEQ, Google, TomTom, HERE, and Apple.

13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the parcel addressing data includes mailing address data associated with real estate property data.

14 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the at least one parcel characteristic is one or more of a street name, zip code, or county name.

15 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the at least one grouping criteria comprises a wilderness area classification, and the at least one grouping criteria is satisfied if the parcel and the at least one other parcel are both in a wilderness area.

16 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the at least one grouping criteria comprises a distance between parcels, and the at least one grouping criteria is satisfied if the distance between parcels is below a threshold distance.

17 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the at least one grouping criteria comprises a number of parcels, and the at least one grouping criteria is satisfied if a number of the at least one other parcel is greater than a threshold number.

18 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the at least one grouping criteria comprises a house number analysis check, and the at least one grouping criteria is satisfied if a house number sequence associated with the parcel and the at least one other parcel is consistent.

19 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the at least one grouping criteria comprises a polygon analysis check, and the at least one grouping criteria is satisfied if a polygon that connects or encloses the parcel and the at least one other parcel is below a polygon size threshold.

20 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:
identifying a parcel associated with parcel identification information that matches one or more of parcel mapping data associated with the parcel and addressing data associated with the parcel; and storing the parcel in the at least one data repository in response to a determination that the parcel identification information matches one or more of the parcel mapping data associated with the parcel and the addressing data associated with the parcel.
