Toilet closet flange support kit

Abstract

This disclosure provides a square closet flange support for overall support of closet flange and toilet bolts and to be used with new construction projects as well as in renovation projects to level, support and determine the final height of the closet flange and to prevent a need of cutting circular forms from floor tiles, hardwood or other floor covering. The square support has a seam that allows it to be snapped into two identical halves for use in renovation projects to enable sliding the support halves under the flange without a need to remove and reinstall an already installed flange.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An installation template for surrounding a toilet flange, the installation template comprising:
 a template having an inner perimeter and an outer perimeter,
 wherein the outer perimeter has four sides defining a quadrilateral, and the inner perimeter defines a central opening configured to surround a toilet flange; 
   at least one breakable seam traversing a portion of the template; and   a plurality of holes wherein each of the plurality of holes is sized to receive at least one fastening mechanism.   
     
     
         2 . The installation template of  claim 1  wherein the at least one breakable seam traverses the template perpendicularly with respect to any one of the four sides. 
     
     
         3 . The installation template of  claim 1  wherein the central opening is circular. 
     
     
         4 . A method of using an installation template, the method comprising:
 positioning the installation template to surround a toilet flange, the installation template comprising:
 a template having an inner perimeter and an outer perimeter,
 wherein the outer perimeter is defined by four sides and the inner perimeter is configured to surround a toilet flange; and 
 
 affixing the installation template to an existing flooring. 
   
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 4  further comprising the step of:
 completing a surrounding flooring pattern by abutting a flooring material along each of the four sides of the installation template,
 wherein each of the four sides are of equal length. 
 
 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 4  wherein more than one template is used with each of the more than one templates being positioned upon one another.
