Head assembly for multi-wire submerged arc welding (saw)
Abstract
The invention described herein generally pertains to a welding device that deposits a material onto a workpiece, the welding device having with an electrode head and a contact assembly coupled thereto. The contact assembly can include a rectangular-shaped first contact bar and a rectangular-shaped second contact bar that can be affixed to one another with an assembly connective means in order to encase a plurality of electrodes therebetween. The second contact bar can include a set of grooves in which each groove can correspond to an electrode to provide guidance during a welding procedure.

22 . A device for depositing material onto a surface of a workpiece, said device comprising:
an electrode head which receives a plurality of consumables in either a welding or cladding operation, said electrode head having a plurality of apertures where each of said plurality of said apertures receives one of said plurality of said consumables during said welding or cladding operation; and a contact assembly coupled to said electrode head, said contact assembly comprising
a first contact bar having a flat side; and
a second contact bar having a side which contains a plurality of grooves, where each of said grooves receives one of said plurality of said consumables during said welding or cladding operation,
wherein said first contact bar is secured to said second contact bar such that said flat side of said first bar contacts said side of said second contact bar having said plurality of said grooves.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
