Abstract
Methods and system for processing transfer requests are described. In one embodiment, a value transfer request may be received from a value provider through a network. The value transfer request may include a value amount to be provided from a source user to a target user. A settlement account of the value provider may be reduced by the value amount. A target account of the target user may be increased by the value amount.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A client device system, comprising:
a non-transitory memory; and one or more hardware processors coupled to the non-transitory memory and configured to read instructions from the non-transitory memory to cause the client device system to perform operations comprising: in response to receiving via an application program interface (API) from a payment provider, causing a programmatic user interface to be displayed determining that a detected user input to the programmatic interface is a a value transfer request from a user's account at a value provider to a recipient account, the value provider being different than the payment provider, the recipient account being an account of an entity that is different from the user, and the value transfer request including a value amount in a first currency; in response to the request for the value transfer, causing the payment provider to determine the value amount in a second currency corresponding to the recipient account and to transfer the value amount in the second currency to the recipient account, wherein the user is not required to have an account with the payment provider; and in response to the transfer of the value amount to the recipient account, updating the programmatic interface to display updated information for the user's account with the value provider.
2 . The client device system of claim 1 , wherein the entity for the recipient account does not have an account with the value provider.
3 . The client device system of claim 1 , wherein the value amount comprises virtual currency.
4 . The client device system of claim 3 , wherein the payment provider further converts the virtual currency to real currency.
5 . The client device system of claim 4 , wherein the second currency for the recipient account comprises the real currency.
6 . The client device system of claim 1 , wherein the value amount comprises one of points, miles, and minutes.
7 . The client device system of claim 1 , wherein the value provider comprises one of a travel-related company and a gaming company.
8 . The client device system of claim 1 , wherein the client device system comprises one of a banking terminal, a set-up box, a portable gaming unit, a mobile telephone, and a display device.
9 . The client device system of claim 1 , wherein the entity for the recipient account is identified through an email address, a phone number, a driver's license number, a license plate number, or a token.
10 . The client device system of claim 1 , wherein the value transfer request is transmitted to the value provider, and wherein the value provider transmits the value transfer request to the payment provider to determine the value amount in the second currency corresponding to the recipient account.
11 . A non-transitory machine readable medium having stored thereon machine-readable instructions executable to cause a machine to perform operations:
in response to receiving information via an application program interface (API) from a payment provider, causing a programmatic user interface to be displayed on a client device; determining that a detected user input to the programmatic user interface is a request for a value transfer from a user's account at a value provider to a recipient account, the value provider being different than the payment provider, the recipient account being an account of an entity that is different from the user, and the value transfer request including a value amount in a first currency; in response to the request for the value transfer, causing the payment provider to determine the value amount in a second currency corresponding to the recipient account and to transfer the value amount in the second currency to recipient account, wherein the user is not required to have an account with the payment provider; in response to the transfer of the value amount to the recipient account, updating the programmatic user interface to display updated information for the user's account at the value provider.
12 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the entity for the recipient account does not have an account with the value provider.
13 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the value amount comprises virtual currency.
14 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the payment provider further converts the virtual currency to real currency.
15 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the second currency for the recipient account comprises the real currency.
16 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the value provider comprises one of a travel-related company and a gaming company.
17 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the client device comprises one of a banking terminal, a set-up box, a portable gaming unit, a mobile telephone, and a display device.
18 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the entity for the recipient account is identified through an email address, a phone number, a driver's license number, a license plate number, or a token.
19 . A method comprising:
in response to receiving information via an application program interface (API) from a payment provider, causing a programmatic user interface to be displayed on a client device; determining that a detected user input to the programmatic user interface is a request for a value transfer from a user's account at a value provider to a recipient account, the value provider being different than the payment provider, the recipient account being an account of an entity that is different from the user, and the value transfer request including a value amount in a first currency; in response to the request for the value transfer, causing the payment provider to determine the value amount in a second currency corresponding to the recipient account and to transfer the value amount in the second currency to recipient account, wherein the user is not required to have an account with the payment provider; in response to the transfer of the value amount to the recipient account, updating the programmatic user interface to display updated information for the user's account at the value provider.
20 . The method of claim 19 , wherein the client device comprises one of a banking terminal, a set-up box, a portable gaming unit, a mobile telephone, and a display device.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
