Abstract

Embodiments enable content sharing using event notifications that include a global identifier and a private identifier. The event notifications are sent to potential participants to an event. Potential participants that accept the event notification or otherwise request to join the event use the private identifier to submit content to a content sharing service. Based at least on the private identifiers associated with event participants, the content from event participants is selectively shared among the other event participants.

         21 . A system comprising:
 a memory area storing user data and computer-executable instructions for sharing content, the memory area associated with a mobile computing device of a user associated with the user data; and   a processor configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to:
 identify one or more computing devices based at least on a proximity of the identified one or more computing devices to the mobile computing device; 
 communicate with the identified one or more computing devices to select, from the one or more computing devices, at least one computing device associated with a potential participant; 
 send at least one invitation to the selected at least one computing device associated with the potential participant; 
 receive, from the at least one computing device associated with the potential participant, an acceptance of the at least one invitation, the potential participant identified as an active participant upon receiving the acceptance such that the at least one computing device is associated with the active participant; and 
 share the content between the mobile computing device and the at least one computing device associated with the active participant. 
   
     
     
         22 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the processor is configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to compare the user data with participant data associated with the potential participant, the at least one computing device selected based at least on the comparison of the user data with the participant data associated with the potential participant. 
     
     
         23 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the at least one invitation includes an identifier corresponding to the potential participant, the content selectively shared based at least on the identifier. 
     
     
         24 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the processor is configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to:
 receive notification of the at least one invitation being sent to another computing device;   receive, from the other computing device, an acceptance of the at least one invitation; and   associate the other computing device with the active participant.   
     
     
         25 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the at least one invitation includes a first identifier corresponding to the potential participant, the content selectively shared based at least on the first identifier, the processor configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to:
 receive notification of the at least one invitation being sent to another computing device;   upon receiving the notification, send another invitation to the other computing device, the other invitation including a second identifier; and   receive, from the other computing device, an acceptance of the other invitation, the content selectively shared based at least on the second identifier.   
     
     
         26 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the at least one invitation includes a first identifier corresponding to the potential participant, the content selectively shared based at least on the first identifier, the processor is configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to:
 receive a request to send another invitation to another computing device;   upon receiving the request, send the other invitation to the other computing device, the other invitation including a second identifier; and   receive, from the other computing device, an acceptance of the other invitation, the content selectively shared based at least on the second identifier.   
     
     
         27 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the processor is configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to:
 identify an inviter computing device associated with an event organizer, the event organizer associated with an event; and   communicate with the inviter computing device to identify one or more event participants, the at least one computing device selected based on the identified one or more event participants.   
     
     
         28 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the processor is configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to:
 identify an inviter computing device associated with an event organizer, the event organizer associated with an event;   communicate with the inviter computing device to identify one or more event participants; and   based on the identified one or more event participants and participant data associated with the active participant, determine whether the active participant is associated with the event, the content selectively shared on condition that the active participant is associated with the event.   
     
     
         29 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the processor is configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to compare the user data with participant data associated with the active participant, the content selectively shared based at least on the comparison of the user data with the participant data associated with the active participant. 
     
     
         30 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the content is associated with an identifier, the content selectively shared based at least on the identifier. 
     
     
         31 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the processor is configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to identify an event proximate to the mobile computing device, the content selectively shared based at least on the event proximate to the mobile computing device. 
     
     
         32 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the processor is configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to:
 identify an event proximate to the mobile computing device; and   based on participant data associated with the active participant, determine whether the active participant is associated with the event proximate to the mobile computing device, the content selectively shared on condition that the active participant is associated with the event proximate to the mobile computing device.   
     
     
         33 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the processor is configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to associate the content with one or more permissions configured to control access to the associated content. 
     
     
         34 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the processor is configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to access the content in accordance with one or more permissions associated with the content. 
     
     
         35 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the processor is configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to:
 receive, from the at least one computing device, a request to access the content, the content stored at the mobile computing device;   determine whether the at least one computing device is configured to store the content stored at the mobile computing device; and   on condition that the at least one computing device is not configured to store the content stored at the mobile computing device, allowing access to the content stored at the mobile computing device and, on condition that an instruction to delete the content stored at the mobile computing device is acknowledged, mirroring the content stored at the mobile computing device to a remote storage media configured to store the content at the remote storage media such that the at least one computing device has access to the content stored at the remote storage media.   
     
     
         36 . A computer-implemented method comprising:
 detecting, at a mobile computing device, one or more computing devices proximate to the mobile computing device;   comparing user data associated with the mobile computing device with participant data associated with the one or more computing devices to select at least one computing device from the one or more computing devices based at least on the comparison of the user data with the participant data;   sending at least one invitation to the selected at least one computing device;   receiving, at the mobile computing device, an acceptance of the at least one invitation, the at least one computing device associated with an active participant upon receiving the acceptance of the at least one invitation; and   sharing content with the at least one computing device associated with the active participant.   
     
     
         37 . The method of  claim 36 , wherein sharing the content comprises comparing the user data associated with the mobile computing device with the participant data associated with the at least one computing device, the content shared based at least on the comparison of the user data with the participant data. 
     
     
         38 . The method of  claim 36 , wherein sharing the content comprises associating the content with one or more permissions configured to control access to the associated content. 
     
     
         39 . The method of  claim 36 , wherein sharing the content comprises accessing the content in accordance with one or more permissions associated with the content. 
     
     
         40 . One or more computer storage media comprising:
 a search component that, upon execution by one or more processors, causes the one or more processors to identify one or more computing devices proximate to a mobile computing device;   a token component that, upon execution by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to communicate with the identified one or more computing devices to compare user data associated with the mobile computing device with participant data associated with the one or more computing devices, and select, from the one or more computing devices, at least one computing device associated with a potential participant based at least on the comparison of the user data with the participant data;   a pairing component that, upon execution by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to send at least one invitation to the selected at least one computing device associated with the potential participant, and receive, from the at least one computing device associated with the potential participant, an acceptance of the at least one invitation, the potential participant identified as an active participant upon receiving the acceptance such that the at least one computing device is associated with the active participant; and   a communications interface component that, upon execution by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to share the content between the mobile computing device and the at least one computing device associated with the active participant.
