Abstract

Aspects of state estimation for cooperative electrical grids are disclosed. State estimation of a local electrical grid can be based on a local grid model and local electrical grid information. The local state estimation can reflect interactions and interconnections with other electrical grids by determining state estimation solution information based on the local grid model, local electrical grid information, and remote state estimator solution information associated with the other electrical grid. As such, a local state estimator can be configured to receive and employ remote state estimator solution information. This can be in addition to the more conventional technique or receiving a remote grid model and remote electrical grid information to estimate the conditions of the remote electrical grid. Further, state estimation solution information can be incremental to further reduce the amount of information to be transferred and the time needed to accomplish transmission of the information.

a memory that stores computer-executable instructions; and a processor, communicatively coupled to the memory, that facilitates execution of the computer-executable instructions to at least:
 receive first electrical grid information associated with the first electrical grid at a first time;
receive second state estimator solution information associated with a second electrical grid at a second time, wherein the second electrical grid is different than the first electrical grid; and
in response to determining first state estimator solution information based on a first model of a first electrical grid, the first electrical grid information, and the second state estimator solution information, update the first electrical grid model.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first electrical grid information includes measurements of electrical characteristics of the first electrical grid for the first time.

3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the second state estimator solution information is associated with the second electrical grid for the second time that is contemporaneous with the first time.

4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein, in response to the update to the first electrical grid model, a second model of the second electrical grid is updated based on updated first state estimator solution information derived from the update to the first electrical grid model, second electrical grid information, and the second model.

5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first model is maintained by a first entity associated with operation of the first electrical grid.

6 . The system of claim 4 , wherein the second model is maintained by a second entity associated with operation of the second electrical grid.

7 . The system of claim 7 , wherein the first entity and second entity are different entities.

8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first model is not shared for inclusion in a unified electrical grid model.

9 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the determination of the first state estimator solution information is further based on a second model of the second electrical grid.

10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the second model does not accurately represent a current state of the second electrical grid.

         11 . A method, comprising:
receiving, by a system including a processor, first electrical grid information associated with a first electrical grid; receiving, by the system, second state estimator solution information associated with a second electrical grid different than the first electrical grid; and updating, by the system, a first model of the first electrical grid in response to determining first state estimator solution information based on the first model, the first electrical grid information, and the second state estimator solution information.

12 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising, updating a second model of the second electrical grid in response to the updating the first model, wherein the updating the second model is based on the second model, second electrical grid information, and the first state estimator solution information.

13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the first electrical grid information is determined for a first time and the second state estimator solution is determined for a second time contemporaneous with the first time.

14 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the first model and the second model are curated by different entities.

15 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the first model is not shared for use in a unified electrical grid model.

16 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the determining the first state estimator solution information is further based on a second model of the second electrical grid.
