Abstract
A device comprising a combustion toroid for receiving combustion-induced centrifugal forces therein to continuously combust fluids located therein and an outlet for exhaust from said combustion toroid.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method of combustion, comprising:
injecting fuel into a toroidal combustion chamber having at least one circular wall and at least one opening in the at least one circular wall leading to an exhaust exit; creating a circumferential combustion vortex within the toroidal combustion chamber, the combustion taking place in a direction substantially perpendicular to the cross section of the at least one circular wall of the toroidal combustion chamber; and exhausting substantially combusted fuel through an exhaust exit located on a central axis circumscribed by the toroidal combustion chamber.
2 . A device for creating a circumferential combustion vortex, comprising:
a torus chamber having a major axis, the torus chamber comprising a first toroidal section and a plurality of second toroidal sections, wherein each of the plurality of second toroidal sections has a cavity in its surface selected from the group consisting of fuel injector cavities, oxidizer input cavities, or exhaust exit cavities; wherein the centers of at least two cavities in two adjacent second toroidal sections are offset from one another by a radial distance about the major axis and coplanar.
3 . A combustion device, comprising:
a first section circumscribing a second section; the first section having a thickness and the second section having a toroidal cavity circumscribing a circular opening, the toroidal cavity being bounded by the first section, wherein the first section comprises a plurality of cavities each of which being oriented substantially tangential to the toroidal cavity and each having an arced entrance into and in contact with the toroidal cavity.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
