Formulations of clomazone

Abstract

New formulations of clomazone are provided, as well as new methods for making formulations of clomazone. The new formulations provide improved efficacy, decreased volatility, and/or increased loading of clomazone over the clomazone formulations in the prior art.

         33 . A formulation comprising:
 a. an organic phase comprising
 i. clomazone 
 ii. at least one additional active ingredient 
 iii. one or more organic solvents, and 
   b. a polymeric shell consisting essentially of polyurea   c. a polymeric dispersant; and   d. one or more suitable excipients selected from the group consisting of surfactants, dispersants, antifreeze agents, clays, water, biocides, salts, polymers, and thickeners.   
     
     
         34 . The formulation of  claim 33 , wherein the additional ingredients are selected from the group consisting of metazachlor, metolachlor, napropamide, pendimethalin, and sulfentrazone. 
     
     
         35 . The formulation of  claim 33 , wherein the active ingredients are metazachlor and napropamide. 
     
     
         36 . The formulation of  claim 33 , wherein the active ingredient is metazachlor. 
     
     
         37 . The formulation of  claim 33 , wherein the active ingredient is pendimethalin.

         39 . The formulation of  claim 38 , wherein the organic solvents are selected from the group consisting of linseed oil and corn oil. 
     
     
         40 . The formulation of  claim 33 , wherein the polymeric dispersant is lignin. 
     
     
         41 . The formulation of  claim 40 , wherein the lignin is lignin sulfonate. 
     
     
         42 . The formulation of  claim 33 , wherein the organic phase is encapsulated in the polyurea shell. 
     
     
         43 . The formulation of  claim 42 , further comprising one or more active ingredients, wherein said one or more active ingredients is not encapsulated in said polyurea shell. 
     
     
         44 . The formulation of  claim 43 , wherein the one or more active ingredients selected from the group consisting of aclonifen, metazachlor, metolachlor, napropamide, pendimethalin, sulfentrazone and any combinations thereof. 
     
     
         45 . The formulation of  claim 44 , wherein the one or more active ingredients is selected from the group consisting of aclonifen, metazachlor, napropamide or any combinations thereof. 
     
     
         46 . The formulation of  claim 44 , wherein the one or more active ingredients are metazachlor and napropamide. 
     
     
         47 . The formulation of  claim 44 , wherein the active ingredient is aclonifen. 
     
     
         48 . The formulation of  claim 44 , wherein the active ingredient is pendimethalin. 
     
     
         49 . The formulation of  claim 44 , wherein the organic solvents are selected from the group consisting of linseed oil and corn oil. 
     
     
         50 . The formulation of  claim 44 , wherein the formulation is in a solid dry form.
