Photographing apparatus and operation control method for the same

Abstract

A photographing apparatus includes: an image pickup section picking up an object image to acquire a picked-up image; a display section capable of showing a display based on the picked-up image; a touch panel generating a signal corresponding to a predetermined operation; and a control section detecting a direction of a slide operation on the touch panel and performing control to select one of multiple items displayed on the display section on the basis of the direction of the slide operation; and the control section sets a display position of each of the multiple items to correspond to an operation direction for selecting the item on a one to one basis and selects one of the multiple items corresponding to the direction of the slide operation in the selection.

What is claimed: 
     
         1 . A display operation apparatus comprising:
 a display section capable of displaying multiple items;   a touch panel generating a signal corresponding to a predetermined operation; and   a control section detecting a direction of a slide operation on the touch panel and performing control to select one of multiple items displayed on the display section on the basis of the direction of the slide operation; wherein   the control section sets a display position of each of the multiple items to correspond to an operation direction for selecting the item, distinguishes a direction of a slide operation from a position where touching on the touch panel started, and selects one of the multiple items corresponding to the distinguished direction of the slide operation.   
     
     
         2 . The display operation apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the control section controls the display section so as to display the selected item in an emphasized manner. 
     
     
         3 . The display operation apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the control section repeatedly distinguishes the direction of the slide operation in accordance with a touching operation on the touch panel, adopts a direction of a slide operation which is distinguished when the touching is released from the touch panel, and selects one of the multiple items which corresponds to the adopted direction of the slide operation. 
     
     
         4 . The display operating apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the display section is of an eye piece type. 
     
     
         5 . The display operation apparatus according to  claim 4 , wherein the touch panel is provided on a display screen of another display section different from the display section. 
     
     
         6 . The display operating apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the touch panel is provided on a display screen of the display section. 
     
     
         7 . A display operation apparatus comprising:
 a display section capable of displaying multiple items;   a touch panel generating a signal corresponding to a predetermined operation; and   a control section detecting a direction of a slide operation on the touch panel and performing control to select one of multiple items displayed on the display section on the basis of the direction of the slide operation; wherein   the control section sets a display position of each of the multiple items to correspond to an operation direction for selecting the item, repeatedly distinguishes the direction of the slide operation in accordance with a touching operation on the touch panel, adopts a direction of the slide operation which is distinguished when the touching is released from the touch panel, and selects one of the multiple items which corresponds to the adopted direction of the slide operation.   
     
     
         8 . The display operating apparatus according to  claim 7 , wherein the control section controls the display section so as to display the selected item in an emphasized manner. 
     
     
         9 . The display operating apparatus according to  claim 7 , wherein the display section is of an eye piece type. 
     
     
         10 . The display operating apparatus according to  claim 7 , wherein the touch panel is provided on a display screen of the display section. 
     
     
         11 . A method of controlling a display operating apparatus comprising a display section capable of displaying multiple items, and a touch panel generating a signal corresponding to a predetermined operation, the method comprising:
 setting a display position of each of multiple items to be displayed on the display section to correspond to an operation direction for selecting the item,   distinguishing a direction of a slide operation from a position where touching on the touch panel started; and   selecting one of the multiple items corresponding to the direction of the slide operation.   
     
     
         12 . The method of controlling a photographing apparatus according to  claim 11 , further comprising displaying the selected item on the display section in an emphasized manner. 
     
     
         13 . The method of controlling a photographing apparatus according to  claim 11 , further comprising repeatedly distinguishing the direction of the slide operation in accordance with a touching operation on the touch panel, adopting a direction of the slide operation which is distinguished when the touching is released from the touch panel, and selecting one of the multiple items which corresponds to the adopted direction of the slide operation. 
     
     
         14 . A display operation apparatus comprising:
 a display section capable of displaying multiple items;   a touch panel generating a signal corresponding to a predetermined operation; and   a control section detecting a direction of a slide operation on the touch panel and performing control to select one of the multiple items displayed on the display section on the basis of the direction of the slide operation and to set an operation mode and an operation parameter; wherein   the control section sets a display position of each of the multiple items to correspond to an operation direction for selecting the item, distinguishes a direction of a slide operation from a position where touching on the touch panel started, selects one of the multiple items corresponding to the distinguished direction of the slide operation, and sets an operation mode and an operation parameter corresponding to the selected item, the operation mode and the operation parameter each corresponding to a different touch operation.   
     
     
         15 . The display operation apparatus according to  claim 14 , wherein the control section sets one of the operation mode and the operation parameter by detecting release of touching, and sets the other of the operation mode and the operation parameter by detecting a touch operation. 
     
     
         16 . The display operation apparatus according to  claim 14 , wherein the control section causes the display section to display items of the operation mode when detecting a touch operation on the touch panel. 
     
     
         17 . The display operation apparatus according to  claim 14 , wherein the control section causes the display section to display items of the operation parameter when detecting a touch operation again in a state where the operation mode is set. 
     
     
         18 . The display operating apparatus according to  claim 14 , wherein the display section is of an eye piece type. 
     
     
         19 . The display operation apparatus according to  claim 18 , wherein the touch panel is provided on a display screen of another display section different from the display section. 
     
     
         20 . The display operating apparatus according to  claim 14 , wherein the touch panel is provided on a display screen of the display section.
