Cover for roofs and the like

Abstract

A cover for roofs including at least one joint having a first portion and a second portion counterposed, a first sheet, a second sheet, the first sheet including a respective first lateral edge defining a first longitudinal rib, the first lateral edge being fittingly couplable to the first portion of the joint for engaging said first rib within a first recess of the first portion. The second sheet includes a second lateral edge defining a second longitudinal rib and being fittingly couplable to the second portion of the joint for engaging the second rib within a second recess of the second portion. The second lateral edge comprises a terminal portion superimposed to the first lateral edge substantially at the centreline of the joint. The terminal portion of said second lateral edge includes an extension having the free end folded and engaged in the first rib of the first lateral edge.

1 . A cover for roofs and the like, comprising:
 at least one joint fixable to the surface of the roof, having a first portion and a second portion counterposed;   at least a first sheet;   at least a second sheet;   said first sheet comprising a respective first lateral edge defining a first longitudinal rib, said first lateral edge being fittingly couplable to said first portion of said joint for engaging said first rib within a corresponding first recess-of said first portion;   said second sheet comprising a respective second lateral edge defining a second longitudinal rib, said second lateral edge being fittingly couplable to said second portion of said joint for engaging said second rib within a corresponding second recess of said second portion; and   said second lateral edge comprising a terminal portion superimposed on said first lateral edge substantially at the centreline of said joint;   
       wherein said terminal portion of said second lateral edge comprises an extension having the free end folded and engaged in said first rib of said first lateral edge.

The cover according to  claim 1 , wherein said first lateral edge and said second lateral edge respectively comprise a third longitudinal rib and a fourth longitudinal rib respectively engaged in a third recess of said first portion of said joint and in a fourth recess of said second portion of said joint.

The cover according to  claim 1 , wherein said terminal portion is configured, in cross-section, to substantially form an “M” shape, said second rib and said folded free end being provided substantially at the terminal ends of said “M” shape, so as to define a substantially symmetric conformation with respect to an ideal centreline plane of said joint. 
     
     
         4 . The cover according to  claim 1 , wherein said first lateral edge is configured, in cross-section, substantially to form a lying “S” shape, having a first portion having a shape matching with that of said second lateral edge, and a second free portion. 
     
     
         5 . The cover according to  claim 1 , wherein said first recess is defined by a first upper appendage of said joint provided in said first portion. 
     
     
         6 . The cover according to  claim 1 , wherein said second recess is defined by a second upper appendage of said joint provided in said second portion. 
     
     
         7 . The cover according to  claim 1 , wherein said first portion and said second portion are symmetrical with respect to an ideal symmetric plane of said joint. 
     
     
         8 . The cover according to  claim 1 , wherein each of said first and second sheet respectively comprises a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge counterfaced. 
     
     
         9 . The cover according to  claim 1 , comprising a plurality of said joints arranged in a row and equally spaced from each other, and a plurality of said first and second sheets coupled to said joints in an alternating manner. 
     
     
         10 . The cover according to  claim 1 , wherein each of said first and second sheet is made of a metal material such as aluminium, copper, stainless steel or the like. 
     
     
         11 . The cover according to  claim 1 , wherein said joint is made of plastic material.
