Abstract

A thread dispensing element ( 60 ) for a thread guide ( 6 ) for knitting machines, comprising a body ( 62 ) having a mounting portion ( 63 ), destined to be removably mounted to a front end ( 8 ) of a thread guide ( 6 ), and an operating portion ( 64 ), destined to be facing towards the needles (N) of a needle-bearing organ of a knitting machine. The mounting portion ( 63 ) enables mounting the dispensing element to the thread guide according to a determined discrete number of configurations with respect to the thread guide ( 6 ), to which corresponds a same discrete number of positions assumed by the operating portion ( 64 ) of the dispensing element with respect to the needles (N) of the needle-bearing organ. The dispensing organ ( 60 ) is configured so as to be selectively mountable to the thread guide ( 6 ) exclusively in a configuration selected from among the determined discrete number of configurations.

5 . The dispensing element ( 60 ) of claim 1 , wherein the determined discrete number of mounting configurations is exactly two, the mounting portion ( 63 ) being mountable to the thread guide ( 6 ) in a first mounting configuration, to which corresponds a low position of the operating portion ( 64 ), or in a second mounting configuration, to which corresponds a high position of the operating portion ( 64 ), and/or wherein in the second mounting configuration the dispensing element ( 60 ) is arranged oppositely with respect to the arrangement assumed in the first mounting configuration, i.e. between the first and the second mounting configuration the mounting portion ( 63 ) is rotated by 180°, and/or wherein the high position and the low position selectively assumed by the operating portion ( 64 ) are vertically aligned along a vertical axis that is substantially parallel to the needles (N) present in the needle-bearing organ of the knitting machine.

6 . The dispensing element ( 60 ) of claim 1 , wherein the longitudinal hole ( 67 ) is open on the rear end ( 65 ), defining a first opening ( 75 ), and is open on the front end ( 66 ), defining a second opening ( 76 ), the first opening enabling insertion of an infeed thread into the longitudinal hole of the dispensing element and the second opening enabling exit, towards the needles of the knitting machine, of the infeed thread, and/or wherein the second opening ( 76 ) is dealigned from the first opening ( 75 ) with respect to the longitudinal axis ( 63 a ), and/or wherein the first opening is coaxial to the longitudinal axis, and/or wherein in the first mounting configuration the second opening ( 76 ) is lower than the first opening ( 75 ) with respect to the longitudinal axis ( 63 a ), and in the second mounting configuration the second opening is higher than the first opening with respect to the longitudinal axis.
