A method of growing new bone or bone-like tissue under in vitro cell culture conditions comprising providing ground demineralized bone and bone-forming cells in a bioreactor under conditions sufficient to form bone or bone-like biomaterial suitable for transplantation by causing a flow of nutrient solutions into, through, and out of the bioreactor.
