Method and system for facilitating electronic communication between the public and a public personality or representative

Abstract

The invention is concerned with a virtual trading card system, comprising a data source that provides information associated with a public figure, and a user device configured to display a first and a second virtual view of an electronic card associated with the public figure, wherein the second virtual view includes a plurality of updateable data fields.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A virtual trading card system, comprising: a data source that provides information associated with a public figure; and a user device configured to display a first and a second virtual view of an electronic card associated with the public figure, wherein the second virtual view includes a plurality of updateable data fields. 
     
     
         2 . The system according to  claim 1 , wherein the first virtual view comprises a multi-media content. 
     
     
         3 . The system according to  claim 2 , wherein the multi-media content comprises: a professional still image; a college still image; or a personal still image. 
     
     
         4 . The system according to  claim 1 , wherein the data source comprises: an Olympics data source; a sports team data source; a music group data source; a political data source; an individual data source; or a real estate data source. 
     
     
         5 . The system according to  claim 1 , wherein the user device is further configured to trade the electronic card with another user device. 
     
     
         6 . The system according to  claim 1 , wherein the electronic card is grouped together with other electronic cards to create a cohesive offering and consistency. 
     
     
         7 . The system according to  claim 1 , wherein the user device comprises a smartphone. 
     
     
         8 . The system according to  claim 1 , wherein the user device comprises an Apple iPhone. 
     
     
         9 . A virtual trading card method, comprising: displaying a main page that includes one or more selectable links; and displaying one of an all cards subcategory, a search subcategory or a my cards subcategory in response to a selection of the one or more selectable links. 
     
     
         10 . The method according to  claim 9 , wherein the all cards subcategory is displayed, further comprising: displaying a menu comprising a selectable one or more of a featured subcategory, a new release subcategory, a top tens subcategory, or a category subcategory. 
     
     
         11 . The method according to  claim 9 , wherein the my cards subcategory is displayed, further comprising: displaying a menu comprising a selectable one or more of a favorites subcategory, a cards subcategory, a multi-media subcategory, or a friend subcategory. 
     
     
         12 . The method according to  claim 9 , wherein the search subcategory is displayed, further comprising: receiving a search query or search selection. 
     
     
         13 . The method according to  claim 10 , wherein the featured subcategory is displayed, further comprising: displaying a selectable link to a front view of an electronic trading card. 
     
     
         14 . The method according to  claim 10 , wherein the new release subcategory is displayed, further comprising: displaying a selectable link to a public figure; or displaying a selectable link to a team. 
     
     
         15 . The method according to  claim 10 , wherein the top tens subcategory or category subcategory is displayed, further comprising: displaying a selectable link to a team. 
     
     
         16 . The method according to  claim 15 , further comprising: displaying a selectable link to a season for the team. 
     
     
         17 . The method according to  claim 16 , further comprising: displaying a front view of an electronic trading card associated with the season and the team. 
     
     
         18 . The method according to  claim 9 , further comprising: displaying a back view of an electronic trading card.

The method according to  claim 18 , further comprising displaying a selectable link to a subcategory comprising: a bio subcategory; a multi-link subcategory; a photos subcategory; a multi-media subcategory; a products subcategory; an auction subcategory; an events subcategory; a story subcategory; or an other team subcategory.

The method according to  claim 19 , further comprising displaying a selectable link to a subcategory comprising: a donations subcategory; a map-to-event subcategory; an accommodations subcategory; a purchase ticket subcategory; a communications subcategory; a music group subcategory; a public figure subcategory; a playlist subcategory; or an events subcategory. 
     
     
         21 . The method according to  claim 19 , wherein the photos subcategory is displayed, further comprising: displaying a selectable open subcategory. 
     
     
         22 . The method according to  claim 19 , wherein the multi-media subcategory is displayed, further comprising: displaying a selectable list subcategory. 
     
     
         23 . The method according to  claim 19 , wherein the product subcategory is displayed, further comprising: displaying a selectable item subcategory. 
     
     
         24 . The method according to  claim 19 , wherein the auction subcategory is displayed, further comprising: displaying a selectable item subcategory. 
     
     
         25 . The method according to  claim 19 , wherein the events subcategory is displayed, further comprising: displaying a selectable event subcategory.

A computer readable medium that includes a computer program, comprising: main page display instructions, which when executed, cause displaying a main page that includes one or more selectable links; and subcategory display instructions, which when executed, cause displaying one of an all cards subcategory, a search subcategory or a my cards subcategory in response to a selection of the one or more selectable links.
