Abstract
An electronic device with a display, processor(s), and memory displays a video monitoring user interface on the display, the video monitoring user interface including video information in a first region and an event timeline in a second region. The electronic device obtains identification of a new event category and, in accordance with a determination that the new event category is associated with one or more past motion events, updating display of the event timeline to include a respective event indicator for each of the one or more past motion events.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method of displaying indicators for motion events on an event timeline, the method comprising:
at a client device, the client device comprising memory, one or more processors, and a display:
displaying a video monitoring user interface on the display, the video monitoring user interface including video information in a first region and an event timeline in a second region;
obtaining identification of a new event category;
in accordance with a determination that the new event category is associated with one or more past motion events, updating display of the event timeline to include a respective event indicator for each of the one or more past motion events.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the video information includes a video stream from a camera located remotely from the client device, the video stream corresponding to a field of view of the camera.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein obtaining identification of the new event category includes receiving identification of a spatial zone, the spatial zone corresponding to at least a portion of the field of view of the camera.
4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the spatial zone is defined by a user of the client device.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one display characteristic for the respective event indicators corresponding to the new event category is distinct from display characteristics of other event indicators.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the height or width of a particular event indicator on the event timeline corresponds to a temporal length of a motion event corresponding to the respective event indicator.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein updating display of the event timeline includes adding a particular graphic object to the event timeline at a position on the timeline corresponding to the time of occurrence for a respective past motion event of the one or more past motion events.
8 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising:
detecting a user selection of the particular graphic object; and in response to detecting the user selection, displaying a preview of the respective past motion event.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the video monitoring user interface further includes a third region; and
the method further includes, after obtaining identification of the new event category, updating display of the third region to include an entry corresponding to the new event category.
10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the entry corresponding to the new event category includes a text box for entering a label for the new event category.
11 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the entry corresponding to the new event category includes a user interface element for toggling display of the event indicators for the one or more past motion events.
12 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the entry corresponding to the new event category includes a user interface element for toggling notifications corresponding to subsequent motion events associated with the new event category.
13 . An electronic device, comprising:
a display; one or more processors; and memory storing one or more programs to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more programs comprising instructions for:
displaying a video monitoring user interface on the display, the video monitoring user interface including video information in a first region and an event timeline in a second region;
obtaining identification of a new event category;
in accordance with a determination that the new event category is associated with one or more past motion events, updating display of the event timeline to include a respective event indicator for each of the one or more past motion events.
14 . The device of claim 13 , wherein the video information includes a video stream from a camera located remotely from the client device, the video stream corresponding to a field of view of the camera.
15 . The device of claim 14 , wherein obtaining identification of the new event category includes receiving identification of a spatial zone, the spatial zone corresponding to at least a portion of the field of view of the camera.
16 . The device of claim 13 , wherein the video monitoring user interface further includes a third region; and
the one or more programs further comprise instructions for, after obtaining identification of the new event category, updating display of the third region to include an entry corresponding to the new event category.
17 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing one or more programs, the one or more programs comprising instructions, which, when executed by an electronic device with a display and one or more processors, cause the electronic device to perform operations comprising:
displaying a video monitoring user interface on the display, the video monitoring user interface including video information in a first region and an event timeline in a second region; obtaining identification of a new event category; in accordance with a determination that the new event category is associated with one or more past motion events, updating display of the event timeline to include a respective event indicator for each of the one or more past motion events.
18 . The storage medium of claim 17 , wherein the video information includes a video stream from a camera located remotely from the client device, the video stream corresponding to a field of view of the camera.
19 . The storage medium of claim 18 , wherein obtaining identification of the new event category includes receiving identification of a spatial zone, the spatial zone corresponding to at least a portion of the field of view of the camera.
20 . The storage medium of claim 17 , wherein the video monitoring user interface further includes a third region; and
the one or more programs further comprise instructions for, after obtaining identification of the new event category, updating display of the third region to include an entry corresponding to the new event category.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
