Abstract
A method, apparatus practicing the method, a system and an interface for displaying an array of computer-readable files having a graphical link with geographical positions to indicate more precisely the geographical position associated with the computer-readable files.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method of graphically associating user-selectable elements to a geographical location on a map, the method comprising:
displaying a map on a display; selecting a geographical location for displaying the map at a desired map area; displaying a plurality of user-selectable elements selected on a basis of the desired map area on the display, the user-selectable elements are displayed along a horizontal direction in a rectilinear arrangement bellow the map disposing user-selectable elements adjacent to each other next to an edge of the map area; selecting a user-selectable element from the displayed plurality of user-selectable elements; and displaying a straight graphical link between the selected user-selectable element and an associated user-selectable element geographical location on the map.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein at least some of the user-selectable elements are images.
3 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising selecting another geographical location for displaying the map at another desired map area; and
displaying another plurality of user-selectable elements selected on a basis of the another desired map area.
4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the desired map area is displayed on a basis of a physical location of a user.
5 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the plurality of user-selectable elements is selected on a basis of an attribute.
6 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the geographical location is a celestial position and the map is a celestial map.
7 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium having stored thereon computer-executable instructions that, when executed by a processor of a computer system, enables a method of graphically associating user-selectable elements to a geographical location on a map, the method comprising:
displaying a map on a display; selecting a geographical location for displaying the map at a desired map area; displaying a plurality of user-selectable elements selected on a basis of the desired map area on the display, the user-selectable elements are displayed along a horizontal direction in a rectilinear arrangement disposing user-selectable elements adjacent to each other next to an edge of the map area; selecting a user-selectable element from the displayed plurality of user-selectable elements; and displaying a straight graphical link between the selected user-selectable element and an associated user-selectable element geographical location on the map.
8 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 7 , further comprising selecting another geographical location for displaying the map at another desired map area; and
displaying another plurality of user-selectable elements selected on a basis of the another desired map area.
9 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 7 , wherein the desired map area is displayed on a basis of a physical location of a user.
10 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 7 , wherein the plurality of user-selectable elements is selected on a basis of an attribute.
11 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 7 , wherein at least some of the user-selectable elements are images.
12 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 7 , wherein the geographical location is a celestial position and the map is a celestial map.
13 . A computerized system configured to read computer-executable instructions adapted to enable a program enabling an interface adapted to display a map and an array of user-selectable elements, the computerized system comprising:
a processing unit configured to process the computer executable instructions; and a display configured to display the map;
the program, when executed, being operative to
cause the interface to receive a selection of a geographical location for displaying the map at a desired map area; display a plurality of user-selectable elements selected on a basis of the desired map area on the display, the user-selectable elements are displayed along a horizontal direction in a rectilinear arrangement disposing user-selectable elements adjacent to each other next to an edge of the map area; select a user-selectable element from the displayed plurality of user-selectable elements; and display a straight graphical link between the selected user-selectable element and an associated user-selectable element geographical location on the map.
14 . The system of claim 13 , further comprising selecting another geographical location for displaying the map at another desired map area; and
displaying another plurality of user-selectable elements selected on a basis of the another desired map area.
15 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the desired map area is displayed on a basis of a physical location of a user.
16 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the plurality of user-selectable elements is selected on a basis of an attribute.
17 . The system of claim 13 , wherein at least some of the user-selectable elements are images.
18 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the geographical location is a celestial position and the map is a celestial map.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
