Beverage Cup Protector Lid Apparatus, Method and System
Abstract
The present invention comprises an improved beverage lid design capable of stretching over a container, such as a beer glass or wine glass. The lids will be fabricated of materials having polymeric elastomeric properties. The lid will be used to cover alcohol beverages served by any establishment that sells opened alcohol beverages to the public. The lid will have certain sayings printed on the top of the lid that will make a potential predator aware that the potential victim is aware of the problem of “date rape”; the lid itself will cover the beverage and will prevent someone from casually slipping a roofie (date rape drug) or any other type of drug into their glass. The cover will also protect against spillage as patrons both female and male walk around a bar or night club with their drink in hand.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An apparatus for prohibiting the unwanted introduction of drugs into an individual's beverage container, said apparatus comprising:
a beverage container, a beverage container protective lid to cover the top of a plurality of said beverage container's sizes, said lid fabricated of a polydimethylsiloxanes elastomeric material such that said lid will stretch over the top of said beverage containers to cover a variety of said beverage containers such that said lid can be stretched to 110% of said lid's unstretched original diameter to have a leak-proof and tamper-proof fit over the top of said beverage containers, said lid having a plurality of integrally molded supplemental elastomeric seal lips on said lid's underside, said elastomeric seal lips having a plurality of radial slots of removed elastomeric material from part of its circumference, said seal lips providing secondary sealing to prevent introduction of drugs into said beverage container, said radial slots providing additional sealing to prevent spillage of a liquid in said beverage container if said beverage container is turned from its vertical position, said radial slots enabling said seal lips to a seal beverage container with changing diameters in the region just below the top of the beverage container, said lid having a plurality of warnings to individuals, said warnings stating to said individuals not to attempt to place unwanted drugs in said beverage container, said lid having a perforation on the top of the lid for entrance of a straw, said perforation capable to accommodate a plurality of said straw's diameters, said perforation being not fully cut open until said straw is inserted through said perforation thereby inhibiting the insertion of unwanted substances into said beverage container.
2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein said polydimethylsiloxanes elastomeric material is replaced with thermoplastic polyester elastomeric material.
3 . An method for prohibiting the unwanted introduction of drugs into an individual's beverage container, said method comprising:
the step of having a beverage container, the step of having a beverage container protective lid to cover the top of a plurality of said beverage container's sizes, said lid fabricated of a polydimethylsiloxanes elastomeric material such that said lid will stretch over the top of said beverage containers to cover a variety of said beverage containers such that said lid can be stretched to 110% of said lid's unstretched original diameter to have a leak-proof and tamper-proof fit over the top of said beverage containers, said lid having a plurality of integrally molded supplemental elastomeric seal lips on said lid's underside, said elastomeric seal lips having a plurality of radial slots of removed elastomeric material from part of its circumference, said seal lips providing secondary sealing to prevent introduction of drugs into said beverage container, said radial slots providing additional sealing to prevent spillage of a liquid in said beverage container if said beverage container is turned from its vertical position, said radial slots enabling said seal lips to seal a beverage container with changing diameters in the region just below the top of the beverage container, said lid having a plurality of warnings to individuals, said warnings stating to said individuals not to attempt to place unwanted drugs in said beverage container, said lid having a perforation on the top of the lid for entrance of a straw, said perforation capable to accommodate a plurality of said straw's diameters, said perforation being not fully cut open until said straw is inserted through said perforation thereby inhibiting the insertion of unwanted substances into said beverage container.
4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein said polydimethylsiloxanes elastomeric material is replaced with thermoplastic polyester elastomeric material.
5 . An system for prohibiting the unwanted introduction of drugs into an individual's beverage container, said system comprising:
a beverage container, a beverage container protective lid to cover the top of a plurality of said beverage container's sizes, said lid fabricated of a polydimethylsiloxanes elastomeric material such that said lid will stretch over the top of said beverage containers to cover a variety of said leverage container such that said lid can be stretched to 110% of said lid's unstretched original diameter to have a leak-proof and tamper-proof fit over the top of said beverage container, said lid having a plurality of integrally molded supplemental elastomeric seal lips on said lid's underside, said elastomeric seal lips having a plurality of radial slots of removed elastomeric material from part of its circumference, said seal lips providing secondary sealing to prevent introduction of drugs into said beverage container, said radial slots providing additional sealing to prevent spillage of a liquid in said beverage container if said beverage container is turned from its vertical position, said radial slots enabling said seal lips to seal beverage containers with changing diameters in the region just below the top of the beverage container, said lid having a plurality of warnings to individuals, said warnings stating to said individuals not to attempt to place unwanted drugs in said beverage container, said lid having a perforation on the top of the lid for entrance of a straw, said perforation capable to accommodate a plurality of said straw's diameters, said perforation being not fully cut open until said straw is inserted through said perforation thereby inhibiting the insertion of unwanted substances into said beverage container.
6 . The system of claim 5 , wherein said polydimethylsiloxanes elastomeric material is replaced with thermoplastic polyester elastomeric material.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
