Dish Organizing Device

Abstract

A dish organizing device for organizing, soaking, washing, and drying dirty or used dishware. The dish organizing device includes a container having a base, one or more sidewalls, and an open upper end, defining an interior volume. The base comprises a plurality of ridges used to support and organize dishes and an opening to allow liquid to drain from the container. The device further includes one or more removable utensil holders that can be attached to the sidewalls of the container by means of a U-shaped lip disposed on the upper end of the removable utensil holder. One or more hooks can be removably attached to the sidewalls so that drinkware may be held thereon. The device prevents dishware from being haphazardly piled on top of one another and subsequently causing dishware to break. The device further provides additional dishware washing capacity when a user's sink is already occupied.

I claim: 
     
         1 ) A dish organizing device, comprising:
 a container having a base, one or more sidewalls, and an open upper end, defining an interior volume;   wherein said base comprises a plurality of ridges adapted to support and organize dishes;   wherein said base further comprises an opening adapted to allow liquid to drain from said container;   one or more utensil holders adapted to be removably attached to said one or more sidewalls of said container.   
     
     
         2 ) The dish organizing device of  claim 1 , wherein said container is substantially rectangular in configuration. 
     
     
         3 ) The dish organizing device of  claim 1 , wherein said container is composed of rubber or plastic. 
     
     
         4 ) The dish organizing device of  claim 1 , further comprising one or more hooks that can be removably attached to said one or more sidewalls of said container, wherein said one or more hooks are adapted to hold dishes or drinkware thereon. 
     
     
         5 ) The dish organizing device of  claim 4 , wherein said one or more hooks comprise a curved fastener adapted to secure said one or more hooks to said one or more sidewalls. 
     
     
         6 ) The dish organizing device of  claim 4 , wherein said one or more hooks are coated with rubber or plastic adapted to protect dishes or drinkware from falling therefrom. 
     
     
         7 ) The dish organizing device of  claim 1 , wherein said opening is removably covered by a plug. 
     
     
         8 ) The dish organizing device of  claim 7 , wherein said plug is secured to said base by means of a strap. 
     
     
         9 ) The dish organizing device of  claim 1 , wherein said one or more utensil holders comprise one or more compartments in which utensils can be held. 
     
     
         10 ) The dish organizing device of  claim 1 , wherein said one or more utensil holders include a fastener for securement to said one or more sidewalls of said container. 
     
     
         11 ) The dish organizing device of  claim 10 , wherein said fastener is a U-shaped lip adapted to be disposed over said one or more sidewalls of said container in order to secure said one or more utensil holders thereto. 
     
     
         12 ) The dish organizing device of  claim 1 , wherein said one or more utensil holders comprise a bottom wall, a plurality of sidewalls that define an interior volume, and an open upper end, wherein said upper end includes said U-shaped lip thereon.
