Abstract
An example of a telephone system and its operations include receiving, by a mobile device, a request for data via a first communication link with a cordless telephone base station. The request for data has a first communication format. The operations can further include communicating the request for data to a mobile network in a second communication format used for mobile network communications. The second communication format is different from the first communication format. The operations can further include receiving, by the mobile device, the data from the mobile network. The data has the second communication format.

1 . A method for network communication, the method comprising:
receiving, by a mobile device, a request for data via a first communication link with a cordless telephone base station, the request for data having a first communication format; communicating the request for data to a mobile network in a second communication format used for mobile network communications, the second communication format being different from the first communication format; and receiving, by the mobile device, the data from the mobile network, the data having the second communication format.
2 . The method of claim 1 further comprising:
converting the request for data received via the first communication link from the first communication format to the second communication format;
converting the data received from the mobile network from the second communication format to the first communication format; and
communicating the data in the first communication format to the cordless telephone base station via the first communication link.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the request for data is received from an electronic device via the cordless telephone base station, the electronic device in communication with the cordless telephone base station via a second communication link, and further comprising
communicating the data to the electronic device via the cordless telephone base station.
4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the electronic device is a cordless handset of the cordless telephone base station, wherein the cordless handset is configured to present the data via a browser application, and wherein the first communication format is used for cordless telephone communications.
5 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the electronic device is a wireless device configured to present the data via a browser application, and wherein the first communication format is used for wireless local-area-network communications.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the data is internet data, and wherein the mobile device is configured to access the Internet via the mobile network using the second communication format.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first communication format comprises at least one member of the group consisting of a personal access system (PAS) format, a digital enhanced cordless telecommunications (DECT) format, and a cordless telephone generation format.
8 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising establishing the first communication link by associating a unique identifier of a first subscriber identification mode (SIM) card of the mobile device to a second SIM card of the cordless telephone base station.
9 . The method of claim 1 further comprising establishing the first communication link between the mobile device and the cordless telephone base station via a local network.
10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the local network comprises at least one member of the group consisting of a cordless telephone network and a wireless local area network (WLAN).
11 . A cordless telephone base station comprising:
a processor; and a memory configured to store instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the cordless telephone base station to
receive first data from a first mobile device in communication with the cordless telephone base station via a first communication link,
receive second data from a second mobile device in communication with the cordless telephone base station via a second communication link, and
communicate the first data and the second data concurrently to an electronic device in communication with the cordless telephone base station via a third communication link.
12 . The cordless telephone base station of claim 11 , wherein the memory is configured to store instructions which, when executed by the processor, further cause the cordless telephone base station to
aggregate the first data and the second data for use by an application of the electronic device.
13 . The cordless telephone base station of claim 11 , wherein the first data comprises at least one member of the group consisting of contact data, scheduling data, application data, email data, calendar data, and internet data, and wherein the second data comprises at least one member of the group consisting of contact data, scheduling data, application data, email data, calendar data, and internet data.
14 . The cordless telephone base station of claim 11 , wherein the memory is configured to store instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the cordless telephone base station to
convert the first data and the second data from a first communication format used for mobile network communications to a second communication format used for local network communications.
15 . A mobile device comprising:
a processor; a network communication interface; and a memory configured to store instructions, which when executed by the processor cause the mobile device to,
establish, via the network communication interface, a communication link between the mobile device and a cordless telephone base station via a local network,
receive, via the network communication interface, a request for data from the cordless telephone base station,
communicate the request for data to a mobile network,
receive the data from the mobile network, and
communicate the data to the cordless telephone base station via the communication link.
16 . The mobile device of claim 15 , the request having a first communication format used for local network communications, and wherein the mobile device is configured to receive the data via the mobile network in a second communication format used for mobile network communications.
17 . The mobile device of claim 16 , wherein the memory is configured to store instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the mobile device to:
convert the data from the second communication format to the first communication format.
18 . The mobile device of claim 17 , wherein the mobile device is configured to access the Internet via the mobile network using the second communication format.
19 . The mobile device of claim 15 , wherein the first communication format comprises at least one member of the group consisting of a personal access system (PAS) format, a digital enhanced cordless telecommunications (DECT) format, and a cordless telephone generation format.
20 . The mobile device of claim 15 , wherein the data is inaccessible to the cordless telephone base station via the local network.
21 . A computer-readable storage medium having instructions stored therein, which when executed by a processor of a mobile device cause the mobile device to:
establish a communication link between the mobile device and a cordless telephone base station via a local network; receive, via the communication link, a request for data from a first application associated with the cordless telephone base station; and communicate, via the communication link, the data to the cordless telephone base station for use by the first application.
22 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 , wherein the data is inaccessible to the first application.
23 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 , wherein the data comprises at least one member of the group consisting of contact data, scheduling data, application data, email data, calendar data, internet data, telephone settings, system data, user data, and control data.
24 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 , having instructions stored therein, which when executed by the processor of the mobile device cause the mobile device to
receive, via the communication link, the request for data from an electronic device in communication with the cordless telephone base station, wherein the first application runs on the electronic device.
25 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 21 , the request for data comprising a request to perform a function via a second application associated with the mobile device.
26 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 25 , having instructions stored therein, which when executed by the processor of the mobile device cause the mobile device to:
perform the function using the second application; and generate the data in response to performance of the function.
27 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 26 , wherein the instructions which cause the mobile device to receive the request for data includes instructions, which when executed by the processor of the mobile device, cause the mobile device to receive, from the first application, a request to transmit an electronic communication, via a mobile network, using contact data stored on the mobile device.
28 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 27 , wherein the instructions which cause the mobile device to perform the function using the second application includes instructions, which when executed by the processor of the mobile device, cause the mobile device to:
