Abstract
An earpiece adapted for being worn by a user includes an earpiece housing, at least one microphone within the earpiece housing, a speaker within the earpiece housing, and a pulse oximeter associated with the earpiece housing. The device may further include an intelligent control operatively connected to the pulse oximeter, a short range transceiver operatively connected to the intelligent control, and a temperature sensor.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An earpiece comprising:
an earpiece housing; a short range transceiver disposed within the ear piece housing; an intelligent control operatively connected to the short range transceiver; a speaker operatively connected to the intelligent control; at least one microphone operatively connected to the intelligent control; and an expansion slot in the ear piece housing and configured to receive a module.
2 . The earpiece of claim 1 further comprising a pulse oximeter disposed within the ear piece housing and operatively connected to the intelligent control.
3 . The earpiece of claim 2 further comprising a temperature sensor disposed within the ear piece housing and operatively connected to the intelligent control.
4 . The earpiece of claim 1 wherein the at least one microphone includes a hone microphone.
5 . The earpiece of claim 1 wherein the at least one microphone includes an air microphone.
6 . The earpiece of claim 1 wherein the at least one microphone includes both a bone microphone and an air microphone.
7 . The earpiece of claim 6 wherein the intelligent control processes signals from the one microphone and the air microphone to remove ambient noise.
8 . The earpiece of claim 1 wherein the intelligent control is adapted to produce speech at the speaker.
9 . An earpiece comprising;
an ear piece housing; a short range transceiver disposed within the ear piece housing; an intelligent control operatively connected to the short range transceiver; a speaker operatively connected to the intelligent control; at least one microphone operatively connected to the intelligent control; and a module stored within the ear piece housing.
10 . The earpiece of claim 9 further comprising a pulse oximeter disposed, within the ear piece housing and operatively connected to the intelligent control.
11 . The earpiece of claim 10 further comprising a temperature sensor disposed within the ear piece housing and operatively connected to the intelligent control.
12 . The earpiece of claim 3 wherein the at least one microphone includes a bone microphone.
13 . The earpiece of claim 9 wherein the at least one microphone includes an air microphone.
14 . The earpiece of claim 9 wherein the at least one microphone includes both a bone microphone and an air microphone.
15 . The earpiece of claim 14 wherein the intelligent control processes signals from the bone microphone and the air microphone to remove ambient noise.
16 . The earpiece of claim 9 wherein the intelligent control is adapted to produce speech at the speaker.
17 . The earpiece of claim 16 wherein the speech is in a foreign language as translated by the earpiece.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
