Virtual image display device
Abstract
A virtual image display device including a video element, an optical member, a frame section, and an auxiliary mounting member. The optical member is adapted to direct light from the video element toward an eye of an observer to make an image be recognized. The frame section is adapted to support the video element and the optical member so that the optical member is disposed in front of the eye of the observer, the frame section including a connection section having a recessed section. The auxiliary mounting member is fixed to the connection section at the recessed section so as to be disposed on the observer side of the optical member.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A virtual image display device comprising:
a video element; an optical member adapted to direct light from the video element toward an eye of an observer to make an image be recognized; a frame section adapted to support the video element and the optical member so that the optical member is disposed in front of the eye of the observer, the frame section including a connection section having a recessed section; and an auxiliary mounting member fixed to the connection section at the recessed section so as to be disposed on the observer side of the optical member.
2 . The virtual image display device according to claim 1 , wherein the auxiliary mounting member includes a coupling section having a portion that is disposed in the recessed section.
3 . The virtual image display device according to claim 2 , wherein the coupling section includes a projection extending toward the portion that is disposed in the recessed section.
4 . The virtual image display device according to claim 2 , wherein the portion of the coupling section that is disposed in the recessed section is a claw.
5 . The virtual image display device according to claim 1 , wherein the connection section comprises a pair of recessed sections each having a recessed surface, the recessed surfaces of the recessed sections facing in opposite directions from each other.
6 . The virtual image display device according to claim 5 , wherein the pair of recessed sections of the connection section are partially surrounded by part of the auxiliary mounting member.
7 . The virtual image display device according to claim 5 , wherein the auxiliary mounting member includes a coupling section having two portions that are each disposed in a separate one of the pair of recessed sections.
8 . The virtual image display device according to claim 7 , wherein the coupling section includes a pair of projections, each of the pair of projections extending toward a separate one of the two portions disposed in the pair of recessed sections.
9 . The virtual image display device according to claim 7 , wherein each of the two portions of the coupling section that are disposed in the recessed sections is a claw.
10 . The virtual image display device according to claim 1 , wherein
the optical member comprises a pair of optical members, and the recessed section of the connection section is disposed between the pair of optical members.
11 . The virtual image display device according to claim 1 , wherein the connection section is disposed in a space corresponding to an upper part of a nose.
12 . The virtual image display device according to claim 1 , wherein the frame section includes a frame adapted to support the optical member, and a protector fixed to the frame and configured to protect at least a part of the optical member.
13 . The virtual image display device according to claim 12 , wherein the connection section of the frame section is located at a connection area between the frame and the protector.
14 . The virtual image display device according to claim 1 , wherein the frame section forms an inner space used for disposing eyeglasses in a mounting state.
15 . The virtual image display device according to claim 1 , further comprising a pair of temple sections extending from the frame section, and supported by ears.
16 . The virtual image display device according to claim 1 , wherein the optical member includes a light guide device having an optical block shape having a light permeability adapted to guide video light from a video display element as the video element to the eye of the observer while internally reflecting the video light.
17 . The virtual image display device according to claim 16 , wherein the light guide device includes:
a light guide member adapted to guide the video light and enable see-through of external light, and a light transmissive member connected to the light guide member and adapted to assist a see-through function for the external light.
18 . The virtual image display device according to claim 1 , wherein:
the video element emits signal light scanned two-dimensionally, and the optical member reflects the light from the video display element to guide the light to the eye of the observer.
19 . The virtual image display device according to claim 1 , wherein the video element includes a liquid crystal display device.
20 . The virtual image display device according to claim 1 , further comprising a light source including a light-emitting diode that emits light toward the video element.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
