Abstract
Among other things, at least two different independent providers of body composition management services are enabled to have online access through respective graphical user interfaces to body composition information and plans that are associated with respective clients of the providers and that are stored on the server. The graphical user interfaces are different for different independent providers. At least some of the information and plans associated with the clients of the different independent providers are stored in a common format in a common database maintained by the server.

2 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to perform operations comprising:
enabling a user to set goals of a minimum lean mass and a maximum fat mass of an individual to be achieved at an end of a goal session and to provide a diet and exercise plan to apply during the goal session; and determining information about progress that the individual needs to make in successive time periods over the goal session in order to achieve the goals of the minimum lean mass and the maximum fat mass at the end of the goal session.
3 . The non-transitory computer readable storage of claim 2 in which the operations to be performed comprise displaying the information about progress that the individual needs to make.

The non-transitory computer readable storage of claim 2 in which the operations to be performed comprise calculating current values of minimum lean mass and maximum fat mass of the individual as a function of height, gender, ethnicity, and age, and based on a body of statistical data across a population.
5 . The non-transitory computer readable storage of claim 2 in which the operations to be performed comprise enabling the individual or a health professional associated with the individual to review current progress of the individual in view of the goals.
6 . The non-transitory computer readable storage of claim 5 in which the operations to be performed comprise: enabling the individual or a health professional associated with the individual to modify the goals; and updating the progress information in accordance with the modified goals.
7 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to perform operations comprising:
calculating current values of minimum lean mass and maximum fat mass of an individual as a function of height and gender and based on a body of statistical data across a population; enabling the individual or a health professional associated with the individual to identify a level of risk of disease associated with the individual based on the current values of minimum lean mass and maximum fat mass of the individual; enabling a user to set goals of a minimum lean mass and a maximum fat mass of the individual to be achieved at an end of a goal session and to provide a diet and exercise plan to apply during the goal session; determining information about progress that the individual needs to make in successive time periods over the goal session in order to achieve the goals of the minimum lean mass and the maximum fat mass at the end of the goal session; causing the information about progress that the individual needs to make to be displayed to the user or a health professional associated with the individual; enabling the individual or the health professional to review current progress of the individual in view of the goals; enabling the individual or the health professional to modify the goals; and updating the progress information in accordance with the modified goals.
8 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to perform operations comprising:
determining a body mass index (BMI) value of an individual; determining a body mass tension (BMT) value of the individual based on a lean mass ratio and a fat mass ratio of the individual; generating a BMT-adjusted BMI value based on the BMT value and the BMI value; and enabling the individual or a health professional associated with the individual to identify a level of risk of disease associated with the individual based on the BMT-adjusted BMI value.
9 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 8 in which the operations to be performed comprise: causing to be displayed, to the individual or the health professional, the BMT-adjusted BMI value.
10 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 8 in which the determining of the BMI value is based on height and weight of the individual.
11 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 8 in which the determining of the BMI value is based on height and weight of the individual.
12 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 8 in which the determining of the BMT value is based on multiplying the lean mass ratio of the individual with the fat mass ratio of the individual.

The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 8 in which the determining of the BMT-adjusted BMI value is based on multiplying a center body mass index (CBMI) value by the BMT value to produce an intermediary value, and subtracting the CBMI value from the intermediary value, the CBMI value being a center value in a normal range of a BMT scale.
14 . A method comprising:
analyzing a body of lean mass and fat mass data to establish demographic lean mass and fat mass values across a population of individuals, and enabling, through respective graphical user interfaces, two different users to manage body composition information of individuals based on the demographic lean mass and fat mass values established across the population.
15 . The method of claim 14 in which the enabling is done without disclosing private information of the population to the users.
16 . The method of claim 14 in which the individuals share one or more predefined similarities with the population.
17 . The method of claim 14 in which the two different users are independent providers of body composition management services.
18 . The method of claim 14 in which the enabling includes: causing a portion of the lean mass and fat mass data about the population to be displayed to the two different users.
19 . The method of claim 14 in which the analyzing includes: performing a statistical analysis on the obtained data.
20 . The method of claim 14 in which the respective graphical user interfaces are configured on different computing devices.
21 . The method of claim 14 in which the users are trainers or other health professionals.
22 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to perform operations comprising:
determining body composition information of an individual in accordance with gender, ethnicity, age, genetic predisposition, family history, or lifestyle behaviors of the individual; and enabling the individual or a health professional associated with the individual to identify a level of risk of disease associated with the individual based on the body composition information.
23 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 22 in which the body composition information includes current values of minimum lean mass and maximum fat mass of the individual.
24 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to perform operations comprising:
comparing body composition information of an individual with target body composition information determined based on a body of statistical data across a population; and identifying one or more potential health risks associated with the individual based on the comparing.

The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 24 in which the identifying includes: identifying the individual as being associated with an increased risk of heart disease, diabetes, or other health problems based on a determination, made from the comparing, that a maximum fat mass of the individual is greater than a target maximum fat mass determined based on the body of statistical data.
26 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 25 including: causing to be displayed one or more different levels of the increased risk using different visual indicators.
27 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 24 including: identifying an ideal body composition of the individual based on one or more of genetic predisposition of the individual, food preference and consumption of the individual, and activity level of the individual.
28 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 27 in which the ideal body composition includes an ideal Lean Body Mass (LBM) of the individual and an ideal fat body mass (FBM) of the individual.
29 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 24 including: storing body of statistical data across the population in a raw form; and enabling the individual or a health professional associated with the individual to analyze a portion that is less than all of the body of the statistical data in accordance with a user-provided gender, ethnicity, age, body type (ectomorph, mesomorph, endomorph), or extreme value of fat mass or lean mass based on one or more different calculation formulasJoin the waitlist — get patent alerts
