Information processing apparatus, display control method, and storage medium

Abstract

An information processing apparatus realizing an enlargement function without system-level customization is provided. The information processing apparatus includes an application unit, an enlargement control unit, and a screen control unit. The application unit generates and draws an image in a normal display area. The enlargement control unit enlarges the image drawn in the normal display area, and generates and draws an enlarged image including part of the enlarged image in an expansion display area. The screen control unit displays the image drawn in the normal display area on a display when the enlargement function is invalid, and displays the enlarged image drawn in the expansion display area on the display when the enlargement function is valid.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An information processing apparatus comprising:
 an application unit configured to generate a first image;   an enlargement control unit configured to enlarge the first image and to generate a second image including part of the enlarged first image; and   a display control unit configured to perform control to display either of the first image and the second image on a display apparatus.   
     
     
         2 . The information processing apparatus according to  claim 1 , comprising:
 a storage unit including a first display area in which the first image is drawn and a second display area of the same display size as the first display area in which the second image is drawn,   wherein the application unit draws the generated first image in the first display area,   the enlargement control unit draws the generated second image in the second display area, and   the display control unit performs control to display either of the first image and the second image drawn in the storage unit, on the display apparatus.   
     
     
         3 . The information processing apparatus according to  claim 2 , comprising:
 a determination unit configured to determine whether an enlargement function is valid,   wherein the screen display unit performs control, based on a determination result made by the determination unit, to display the first image drawn in the first display area on the display apparatus if the enlargement function is invalid, and to display the second image drawn in the second display area on the display apparatus if the enlargement function is valid.   
     
     
         4 . The information processing apparatus according to  claim 3 , comprising,
 a device control unit configured to generate an enlargement mode notification indicating whether the enlargement function is valid, according to a user's setting, and to send the generated enlargement mode notification to the determination unit.   
     
     
         5 . The information processing apparatus according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein the enlargement control unit enlarges a captured first image at a predetermined enlargement rate, and superimposes part of the enlarged captured image on the not-enlarged captured image thereby to generate the second image.   
     
     
         6 . The information processing apparatus according to  claim 5 ,
 wherein the enlargement control unit clips the enlarged captured image at a smaller size than the display size, and superimposes the clipped image on the not-enlarged captured image thereby to generate the second image.   
     
     
         7 . The information processing apparatus according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein the enlargement control unit enlarges the captured first image at a predetermined enlargement rate, and clips the enlarged captured image at the display size thereby to generate the second image.   
     
     
         8 . The information processing apparatus according to  claim 3 ,
 wherein the determination unit determines whether to display an enlarged image on the entire display apparatus or to display an enlarged image on part of the display apparatus,   the enlargement control unit enlarges the captured first image at a predetermined enlargement rate,   in a case where an enlarged image is displayed on the entire display apparatus, the enlargement control unit clips the enlarged captured image at the display size thereby to generate the second image, and   in a case where an enlarged image is displayed on part of the display apparatus, the enlargement control unit clips part of the enlarged captured image at a smaller size than the display size, and superimposes the clipped image on the not-enlarged captured image thereby to generate the second image.   
     
     
         9 . The information processing apparatus according to  claim 8 ,
 wherein in a case where an enlarged image is displayed on the entire display apparatus, the display control unit displays a first object configured to return the enlarged image displayed on the display apparatus to an original size and a second object configured to display a hidden part of the enlarged image on the display apparatus, on the second image.   
     
     
         10 . The information processing apparatus according to  claim 9 ,
 wherein when the first object is operated, the screen display unit displays the first image on the display apparatus.   
     
     
         11 . A display control method performed by an information processing apparatus comprising a storage unit including a first display area in which a first image is drawn and a second display area of the same display size as the first display area in which a second image is drawn, the method comprising:
 generating and drawing the first image in the first display area, enlarging the first image, and generating and drawing the second image including part of the enlarged first image in the second display area; and   displaying either of the first image and the second image on a display apparatus.   
     
     
         12 . A computer readable storage medium storing a computer program therein, the computer program causing a computer to function as:
 an application unit configured to generate a first image;   an enlargement control unit configured to enlarge the first image and to generate a second image including part of the enlarged first image; and   a screen display unit configured to display either of the first image and the second image on a predetermined display apparatus.
