Double wall insulated cap
Abstract
The “Double Wall Insulated Cap”, a device that when used will conserve heat in a dwelling. For use mostly to plug a flue pipe opening situated at the exterior wall of a dwelling. By plugging that particular hole usually situated, leading directly out to a chimney bottom with an insulated double walled cap, the insulated cap stops heat from escaping out the hole in the wall and prevents cold air from entering the dwelling, when the heating unit is not in use. It is also effective during hot summer months, when air conditionners are in use, when used it caps hot air out and cold air in. The “Double Wall Insulated Cap” uniquely because of its double wall nature fits to all standard sized flue openings and also at any angle.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedI claim:
1 . A double wall insulated chimney flue pipe cap, sealing device that fits on any and all standard flue pipe open ends, to be used during periods of heating unit non-use, comprising:
a a cylindrical metal cap ( 18 ), open at one end, and covered at the other end by a concentric flat metal plate; b a hooked handle ( 12 ), protruding outward from the center capped end, for hanging and storage purposes, and attached to a center bolt ( 21 ), which is inserted through the unit at the center, end to end, protruding out the other end to accept a few tightening nuts ( 15 ), and a cover plate ( 14 ); c an inner concentric metal cylinder ( 16 ) fitted within the cap ( 18 ), being of smaller diameter than the standard cap ( 18 ), it forms the core body wall ( 16 ), in which fire retardant insulation ( 15 ) is inserted, the inner core wall ( 16 ) enables the double wall featured characteristic of the double wall insulated cap, and provides a slight channel gap of air in between this inner wall ( 16 ) and the regular cylindrical outer cap wall ( 18 ), which in turn enables the opposing flue connection end, to slide in, and seal the connection wall; d a concentric cover plate ( 14 ) is fitted on the long bolt ( 21 ), over the core ( 16 ) only, covering the insulation ( 15 ) but revealing the surrounding gap channel in between the double walls, which accepts the insertion of the opposing flue pipe end, this is unique and has a much wider scope and usefulness than a single wall cap.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
