Fluorinated aryl epoxide compounds

Abstract

A fluorinated aromatic epoxy compound having a fluorinated ether tail and a pendant epoxy functional group. These compounds are particularly useful as starting materials for producing various water and oil repellents and soil resists.

         17 . The polymer of  claim 16  wherein the reactive epoxide monomer is selected from the group consisting of bisphenol diglycidyl ethers and epoxy novolacs. 
     
     
         18 . The polymer of  claim 16  wherein the curing agent is selected from the group consisting of mono-functional amines, di-functional amines, and tri-functional amines. 
     
     
         19 . The polymer of  claim 16  wherein the reactive epoxide monomer is the same compound of Formula (I). 
     
     
         20 . The polymer of  claim 16  wherein the reactive epoxide monomer is a different compound of Formula (I) that is selected from any of compounds represented in Formula (II) through (XIV) as follows:
