Abstract

The present invention relates to a soluble peptide comprising the amino acids sequence: KRFYVVMWKK (SEQ ID NO: 1) or a function-conservative variant thereof for use in the treatment of cancer. The invention also relates to a pharmaceutical composition for use in the treatment of cancer comprising at least one soluble peptide according to the invention or at least one acid nucleic according to the invention or at least one expression vector according to the invention, or at least one host cell according to the invention and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method for treating cancer in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to said subject a therapeutically effective amount of a soluble peptide comprising the amino acid sequence: KRFYVVMWKK (SEQ ID NO:1) or a function-conservative variant thereof.

2 . The method according to claim 1 wherein an amino acid sequence of the function-conservative variant differs from SEQ ID NO:1 by 1, 2 or 3 amino acids.

3 . The method according to claim 1 wherein the soluble peptide consists of the amino acid sequence SEQ ID NO:1.

4 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the cancer is a leukemia.

5 . The method according to claim 4 wherein the leukemia is B-chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).

6 . The method according to claim 5 wherein the CLL is a refractory CLL.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said soluble peptide is administered by administering to said subject a nucleic acid encoding the soluble peptide according to claim 1 .

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said soluble peptide is administered by administering to said subject an expression vector comprising a nucleic acid according to claim 7 .

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said soluble peptide is administered by administering to said subject a host cell comprising an expression vector according to claim 8 .

         10 . A pharmaceutical composition comprising
 i) at least one soluble peptide according to claim 1 ; or ii) at least one acid nucleic encoding said at least one soluble peptide according to claim 1 ; or iii) at least one expression vector comprising said at least one nucleic acid encoding said at least one soluble peptide according to claim 1 ; or iv) at least one host cell comprising said at least one expression vector comprising said at least one nucleic acid encoding said at least one soluble peptide according to claim 1 ; and
       a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

         11 . A soluble peptide of formula (I):

         12 . (canceled)

13 . A soluble peptide of formula (III):

         14 . (canceled)

15 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said function-conservative variant is a soluble peptide of formula (II):

16 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said function-conservative variant is a soluble peptide of formula (III):

17 . A method of treating cancer in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to said subject a therapeutically effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising
 i) at least one soluble peptide according to claim 1 ; or ii) at least one acid nucleic encoding at least one soluble peptide according to claim 1 ; or iii) at least one expression vector comprising at least one nucleic acid encoding at least one soluble peptide according to claim 1 ; or iv) at least one host cell comprising at least one expression vector comprising at least one nucleic acid encoding at least one soluble peptide according to claim 1 ; and
       a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
