Abstract

Aspects of the present invention relate to the projection of imagery from a head-worn computer, wherein a projector with x-y control and a laser are mounted in the head-worn computer and positioned to project a raster style interactive user interface image onto a nearby surface.

We claim: 
     
         1 . A method, comprising:
 a. Projecting a user interface image on to a surface proximate a head-worn computer, wherein a laser projector in a head-worn computer produces the projection;   b. World-locking the user interface image relative to the surface; and   c. Assessing movements of the head-worn computer and removing, by modifying what content gets projected, at least a portion of the projected user interface when there is an indication that the at least a portion of the projected user interface is out of a view of the user at the world-locked position.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the step of assessing movements of the head-worn computer is accomplished by imaging the surface. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the step of assessing movements of the head-worn computer is accomplished by monitoring data from an IMU on the head-worn computer. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the at least a portion is a right side portion of the image when the head-worn computer moves to the left. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the user interface image is a keyboard. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the user interface image is shape stabilized such that the image maintains a normal shape as the head-worn computer moves. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein interactions with the user interface image are detected through a structured light analysis.
