Claims
Abstract
An extrusion profile and cap system is provided. The extrusion profile may be made of metals, polymers, ceramics, and the like. The extrusion profile may include an outer perimeter forming an internal cavity. At least one channel may be formed along the outer perimeter and protruding into the internal cavity. The cap is releasably attachable to the extrusion profile and may cover at least a portion of the channel. The cap may hide bolts, screws, angle bars, wires and the like within the channel.

1 . An apparatus comprising:
at least a first extrusion profile comprising an outer perimeter forming an internal cavity, wherein at least one channel if formed along the outer perimeter and protruding into the internal cavity; and a cap releasably attachable to the extrusion profile, wherein when the cap is attached to the extrusion profile, the cap covers at least a portion of the channel.
2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the outer perimeter forms an opening leading to the channel at a first edge and a second edge.
3 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the first edge and the second edge each comprise a protruding lip, wherein the cap comprises a clip, wherein the clip engages the protruding lips when the cap is attached to the extrusion profile.
4 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the outer perimeter comprises four sides comprising a first side, a second side, a third side, and a fourth side.
5 . The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the at least one channel is formed on at least one of the four sides.
6 . The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the at least one channel is formed on the first side, and at least one opening into the internal cavity is formed on a second side, wherein the at least one opening is formed by a first end ledge and a second end ledge.
7 . The apparatus of claim 6 , further comprising a second extrusion profile comprising at least one channel formed on the first side, and at least one opening into the internal cavity formed on a second side, wherein the at least one opening is formed by a first end ledge and a second end ledge, wherein the first end ledge and the second end ledge comprise a clip formed to releasably secure to the first end ledge and the second end ledge of the first extrusion profile.
8 . The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the at least one channel comprises two channels, wherein a first channel is formed on the first side, and a second channel is formed on a second side.
9 . The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the at least one channel comprises three channels, wherein a first channel is formed on the first side, a second channel is formed on the second side, and a third channel is formed on the third side.
10 . The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the at least one channel is formed on the first side, and the second side comprises a first end edge and a second end edge, with an opening formed in between leading into the internal cavity.
11 . The apparatus of claim 6 , wherein a first end ledge and a second end ledge is abutting a surface, wherein a bolt protrudes through the channel and into the surface, thereby attaching the extrusion profile to the surface.
12 . The apparatus of claim 11 , further comprising the cap snapped onto the extrusion profile and covering the bolt.
13 . The apparatus of claim 4 , further comprising a second extrusion profile comprising at least one channel formed on the first side, and at least one opening into the internal cavity formed on a second side, wherein the at least one opening is formed by a first end ledge and a second end ledge.
14 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the second extrusion profile is attached to a surface by at least a first bolt, and the first extrusion profile is attached to the second extrusion profile in a perpendicular orientation by an angle clamp and at least a second bolt, wherein at least one cap is attached to at least one of the first extrusion profile and the second extrusion profile to cover at least one of the bolts and the angle clamp.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
