Food and Beverage Tray

Abstract

A food and beverage tray that is particularly useful in consuming fast food or snack meals. The food and beverage tray is uniquely designed so that the entire fast-food or snack meal may be held with one hand, leaving the other hand free for eating.

I claim: 
     
         1 . A food tray comprising:
 (a) a generally planar bottom wall having a central portion provided with spaced apart first, second and third finger receiving openings;   (b) a pair of substantially parallel side walls extending upward from said bottom wall, one of said sidewalls being provided with a generally centrally disposed finger receiving opening;   (c) a pair of substantially parallel end walls extending upward from said bottom wall; and   (d) a generally planar top wall connected to said sidewalls and to said end walls and overlying said bottom wall, said top wall having:
 (i) a pair of longitudinally spaced, generally rectangular shaped food container receiving openings; 
 (ii) a generally centrally disposed, generally circular shaped beverage container receiving opening; and 
 (iii) a pair of longitudinally spaced condiment container receiving openings disposed intermediate said pair of longitudinally spaced food container receiving openings. 
   
     
     
         2 . The food tray defined in  claim 1  in which each of said pair of longitudinally spaced food container receiving openings is provided with a pair of downwardly foldable food container engaging flaps. 
     
     
         3 . The food tray as defined in  claim 1  in which said top wall is provided with a generally centrally disposed, generally circular shaped scored napkin receiving opening. 
     
     
         4 . The food tray as defined in  claim 1  in which said top wall is provided with a plurality of radially outward extending slits circumscribing said beverage container receiving opening. 
     
     
         5 . The carrier as defined in  claim 1  in which said first and second finger receiving openings are generally circular in shape and in which said third finger receiving opening is generally elliptical in shape. 
     
     
         6 . The carrier as defined in  claim 1  in which said pair of longitudinally spaced condiment container receiving openings are generally circular in shape. 
     
     
         7 . The carrier as defined in  claim 1  in which said pair of longitudinally spaced condiment container receiving openings are generally rectangular in shape. 
     
     
         8 . A food tray comprising:
 (a) a generally planar bottom wall having a central portion provided with spaced apart first, second and third finger receiving openings, one of said first, second and third finger receiving openings being generally elliptical in shape;   (b) a pair of substantially parallel side walls extending upward from said bottom wall, one of said sidewalls being provided with a generally centrally disposed finger receiving opening;   (c) a pair of substantially parallel end walls extending upward from said bottom wall; and   (d) a generally planar top wall connected to said sidewalls and to said end walls and overlying said bottom wall, said top wall having:
 (i) a pair of longitudinally spaced, generally rectangular shaped food container receiving openings, each of said pair of longitudinally spaced food container receiving openings being provided with a pair of downwardly foldable food container engaging flaps; 
 (ii) a generally centrally disposed, generally circular shaped beverage container receiving opening; and 
 (iii) a pair of longitudinally spaced condiment container receiving openings disposed intermediate said pair of longitudinally spaced food container receiving openings. 
   
     
     
         9 . The food tray as defined in  claim 8  in which said top wall is provided with a generally centrally disposed, generally circular shaped scored napkin receiving opening. 
     
     
         10 . The food tray as defined in  claim 8  in which said top wall is provided with a plurality of radially outward extending slits circumscribing said beverage container receiving opening. 
     
     
         11 . The carrier as defined in  claim 8  and which said first and second finger receiving openings are generally circular in shape and in which said third finger receiving opening is generally elliptical in shape. 
     
     
         12 . The carrier as defined in  claim 1  in which said pair of longitudinally spaced condiment container receiving openings are generally circular in shape. 
     
     
         13 . The carrier as defined in  claim 1  in which said pair of longitudinally spaced condiment container receiving openings are generally rectangular in shape. 
     
     
         14 . A food tray comprising:
 (a) a generally planar bottom wall having a central portion provided with spaced apart first, second and third finger receiving openings, said first and second finger receiving openings being generally circular in shape and said third finger receiving opening being generally elliptical in shape;   (b) a pair of substantially parallel side walls extending upward from said bottom wall, one of said side walls being provided with a generally centrally disposed, generally circular shaped finger receiving opening;   (c) a pair of substantially parallel end walls extending upward from said bottom wall; and   (d) a generally planar top wall connected to said side walls and to said end walls and overlying said bottom wall, said top wall having:
 (i) a pair of longitudinally spaced, generally rectangular shaped food container receiving openings, each of said pair of longitudinally spaced food container receiving openings being provided with a pair of downwardly foldable food container engaging flaps; 
 (ii) a generally centrally disposed, generally circular shaped beverage container receiving opening, said beverage container receiving opening having a plurality of radially outward extending slits circumscribing said opening; 
 (iii) a pair of longitudinally spaced condiment container receiving openings disposed intermediate said pair of longitudinally spaced food container receiving openings; and 
 (iv) a generally centrally disposed, generally circular shaped, scored napkin receiving opening. 
   
     
     
         15 . The carrier as defined in  claim 14  in which said pair of longitudinally spaced condiment container receiving openings are generally circular in shape. 
     
     
         16 . The carrier as defined in  claim 14  in which said pair of longitudinally spaced condiment container receiving openings are generally rectangular in shape.
