Flower Pot Cover

Abstract

A flower pot cover for placement over a flower pot. The flower pot cover includes a circular band of material having an open top and an open bottom. The open top provides a first elastic band located around the perimeter thereof in order to readily adjust to the flower pot to which it is applied. The open bottom provides a second elastic band located around the perimeter thereof in order to readily adjust to the flower pot to which it is applied. An insulative liner is located on the interior side of the flower pot cover and the exterior material of the flower pot cover provides a variety of decorative patterns thereon. The insulative liner prevents the escape of moisture and water from the soil, leaves and the plant placed into the flower pot to which the flower pot cover is applied.

1 . A flower pot covering comprising:
 a tubular sheet, said sheet having a first side and a second side and defining an interior volume forming an open upper and an open bottom;   said open upper having a perimeter edge;   said perimeter edge having a first securing means;   said open bottom having a perimeter edge;   said perimeter edge having a second securing means;   wherein said perimeter edge of said upper and said perimeter edge of said open bottom further comprise a hollow channel having a first open end and a second open end;   said first securing means being a first drawstring, said first drawstring extending within said hollow channel of said perimeter edge of said open upper, said first drawstring exits said first open end and said second open end of said hollow channel of said open upper;   said second securing means being a second drawstring, said second drawstring extending within said hollow channel of said perimeter edge of said open bottom, said second drawstring exits said first open end and said second open end of said hollow channel of said open bottom;   wherein said open bottom forms a ruching around said perimeter edge; and   wherein said second side of said sheet further comprises a thermally insulative liner on an interior surface of said tubular sheet.

         9 . The flower pot cover of  claim 1 , wherein said ruching partially encloses a bottom of a flower pot. 
     
     
         10 . A flower pot covering comprising:
 a tubular sheet having an interior volume, an open upper end, and an open bottom end;   the open upper end having a first hollow channel extending around a perimeter edge thereof;   the open bottom end having a second hollow channel extending around a perimeter edge thereof;   a first elastic band disposed through the first hollow channel;   a second elastic band disposed through the second hollow channel;   wherein the first hollow channel and the second hollow channel are fully enclosed;   wherein the open bottom end forms a ruching around the perimeter edge thereof;   a thermally insulative liner disposed on an interior surface of the tubular sheet.   
     
     
         11 . The flower pot covering of  claim 10 , wherein the interior volume is configured to conform to a flower pot such that the thermally insulative layer rests against an exterior surface of the flower pot when the flower pot covering is placed around the flower pot.
