Abstract
Aspects of the present invention relate to providing assistance to medical professionals during the performance of medical procedures through the use of technologies facilitated through a head-worn computer.

1 . A method, comprising:
a. Irradiating a portion of a human body with non-visible light and visible light; b. Causing a medical professional to view the portion of the human body as illuminated by the visible light through a computer display positioned on the head of the medical professional; c. Capturing reflections of the non-visible light from the portion of the human body with a non-visible image capture device; d. Converting the captured non-visible light into visible light content; and e. Presenting the visible light content as an augmented reality overlay in the computer display such that the medical professional perceives the visible light content as overlaying the portion of the human body.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the non-visible light may be emitted from a solid-state light source mounted on a head-worn platform.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein, both the visible light and non-visible light are emitted from light sources mounted on a head-worn platform.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein, the reflections of the non-visible light are analyzed for a known condition.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the known condition is at least one of a blood condition, vascular condition, organ condition, cell condition, and cancer condition or other medical condition.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the visible light content is presented for medical procedure guidance.
7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising an in-line eye-imaging camera for capturing an image of an eye of the medical professional to identify the direction the medical professional is looking.
8 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising a surrounding environment imaging system that is arranged to capture the surrounding environment in-line with the optical axis of the medical professional's surrounding environment.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the visible light content includes a controllable attribute and the controllable attribute is controlled through an external user interface.
10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the visible light content includes a controllable attribute and the controllable attribute is controlled through a gesture interface.
