Abstract

A pillow cover is provided that includes a first panel and a second panel perimetrically joined with the first panel such that inner surfaces of the first and second panels define a cavity having a void volume. The first and second panels are each made from a first material. An opening extends through the inner surface of the first panel and an outer surface of the first panel. The pillow cover includes a patch covering the opening. The patch is made from a second material that is different than the first material.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 20 . (canceled)

         21 . A pillow cover comprising:
a first panel; a second panel; and a gusset joining the first and second panels, wherein the panels each comprise a first material and the gusset comprises a second material, the second material having a greater porosity than the first material, wherein inner surfaces of the panels and the gusset define a cavity configured for disposal of a pillow.

22 . A pillow cover as recited in claim 21 , wherein the panels each include an edge defining a perimeter and the gusset perimetrically bounds and joins the panels.

23 . A pillow cover as recited in claim 21 , wherein the gusset is configured to act as a filter that can prevent solid particles from entering the cavity while simultaneously permitting air and/or heat that builds up within the cavity to escape.

24 . A pillow cover as recited in claim 21 , wherein the pillow cover is configured to have air enter the cavity through pores in the panels and have the air exit the cavity through pores in the gusset.

25 . A pillow cover as recited in claim 21 , wherein the first material is a porous material.

26 . A pillow cover as recited in claim 21 , wherein the first material is a breathable fabric.

27 . A pillow cover as recited in claim 21 , wherein the first material is an elastic material.

28 . A pillow cover as recited in claim 21 , wherein at least one of the panels comprises stitching that defines at least one stitched portion, the at least one stitched portion having a reduced profile relative to non-stitched portions of at least one of the panels.

29 . A pillow cover as recited in claim 21 , wherein the gusset consists of the second material.

         30 . A bedding system comprising:
 a pillow cover comprising:
 a first panel,
 a second panel, and
a gusset joining the first and second panels, inner surfaces of the panels and the gusset defining a cavity; and
a pillow positioned within the cavity, wherein the panels each comprise a first material and the gusset comprises a second material, the second material having a greater porosity than the first material.

31 . A bedding system as recited in claim 30 , wherein the pillow comprises
a cover having a first panel and a second panel perimetrically bound and joined with the first panel; and a fill material disposed in a cavity defined by inner surfaces of the first and second panels of the pillow.

32 . A bedding system as recited in claim 30 , wherein the pillow cover is configured to have air enter the cavity through pores in the panels and have the air exit the cavity through pores in the gusset such that air surrounding the pillow will escape the cavity through pores in the gusset.

         33 . A pillow cover comprising:
a first panel and a second panel perimetrically joined with the first panel such that inner surfaces of the panels define a cavity having a void volume, the panels each being made from a first material, wherein an opening extends through inner and outer surfaces of the first panel, and wherein a perimeter of the second panel defines a maximum area of the second panel, the first material covering the maximum area.

34 . A pillow cover as recited in claim 33 , wherein the second panel comprises opposite first and second end surfaces that each extend between opposite first and second side surfaces, wherein the first material extends continuously from the first end surface to the second end surface and continuously from the first side surface to the second side surface.

35 . A pillow cover as recited in claim 33 , wherein the opening has a size, shape and arrangement and the second panel is free of any openings having the size, shape and arrangement of the opening in the first panel.

36 . A pillow cover as recited in claim 33 , further comprising a patch that covers the opening.

37 . A pillow cover as recited in claim 36 , wherein the patch is made from a second material that is different than the first material.

38 . A pillow cover as recited in claim 33 , further comprising:
a patch that covers the opening, the patch engaging the outer surface of the first panel; and a filter that covers the opening, the filter engages the inner surface of the first panel.

39 . A pillow cover as recited in claim 38 , wherein pores of the filter are aligned with pores of the patch.

         40 . A pillow cover as recited in claim 33 , wherein:
the first panel includes a first portion having a first fastener and a second portion that is separable from the first portion having a second fastener configured to engage the first fastener to join the first portion with the second portion; and the first fastener includes a first row of teeth and the second fastener includes a second row of teeth configured to interdigitate with the first row of teeth.
