Quick Loading Firearm Magazine Systems and Methods
Abstract
A quick loading firearm magazine generally comprises; a magazine casing, a chambering mechanism, and a chambering mechanism actuator. The magazine casing is configured to receive a plurality of firearm cartridges and the casing is dimensioned to couple to a magazine well of a firearm. The chambering mechanism, such as a spring, provides a sufficient force to loaded firearm cartridges to assure the cartridges are chamberable within the firearm, and may further comprise a spring follower coupled to the spring to further assist guiding the loaded cartridges. The chambering mechanism actuator allows a user to manually actuate the chambering mechanism and may comprise a casing slide that suitably engages the casing, and is configured to; slide along the firearm magazine body, engage the spring follower through a longitudinal casing slot, and maintain the spring follower in a substantially normal position relative to the casing sidewall.

1 . A quick loading firearm magazine comprising:
a casing to receive at least one firearm cartridge, wherein the casing is dimensioned to couple to a magazine well of a firearm, a chambering mechanism to provide a force to the at least one firearm cartridge to assure the at least one firearm cartridge is chamberable within the firearm, and a chambering mechanism actuator to allow a user to manually actuate the chambering mechanism; wherein the chambering mechanism actuator portion manipulated by the user is not receivable by the magazine well.
2 . The firearm magazine of claim 1 , wherein the chambering mechanism comprises a spring.
3 . The firearm magazine of claim 2 , wherein the casing comprises at least one slot extending longitudinally along the casing to operate as a guide for the chambering mechanism actuator.
4 . The firearm magazine of 3 , wherein the chambering mechanism further comprises a spring follower coupled to the spring to suitably guide the at least one firearm cartridge within the casing.
5 . The firearm magazine of claim 4 , wherein the chambering mechanism actuator comprises a casing slide that suitably engages the casing, and is configured to; slide along the firearm magazine body, engage the chambering mechanism through the at least one slot, and maintain the spring follower in a substantially normal position relative to the casing sidewall.
6 . The firearm magazine of claim 5 , wherein the casing slide encircles an outer perimeter portion of the casing and further comprises ergonomic elements to facilitate the user to slide the casing slide along the length of the casing.
7 . The firearm magazine of claim 6 , wherein the casing slide comprises a lock to maintain the casing slide in a fixed position relative to the casing during reception of the at least one firearm cartridge.
8 . The firearm magazine of claim 1 , wherein the chambering mechanism comprises at least one of a pneumatic piston and a hydraulic piston.
9 . The firearm magazine of claim 2 , wherein the casing, having a proximate end and a distal end, is configured to receive the at least one firearm cartridge at the proximate end as the user actuates the spring from an extended position at the proximate end to a compressed position at the distal end.
10 . The firearm magazine of claim 2 , wherein the casing, having a proximate end and a distal end, is configured to receive the at least one firearm cartridge at the distal end.
11 . A method for manufacturing a quick loading firearm magazine comprising:
forming a casing configured to receive at least one firearm cartridge, wherein the casing is dimensioned to couple to a magazine well of a firearm, tooling a chambering mechanism that is configured to provide sufficient force to the at least one firearm cartridge to assure the at least one firearm cartridge is chamberable within the firearm, and forming a chambering mechanism actuator to allow a user to manually actuate the chambering mechanism; wherein the chambering mechanism actuator portion manipulated by the user is configured not to be received by the magazine well.
12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein tooling the chambering mechanism comprises manufacturing a spring.
13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein forming the casing comprises further forming at least one slot extending longitudinally along the casing to operate as a guide for the chambering mechanism actuator.
14 . The method of 13 , wherein tooling the chambering mechanism further comprises manufacturing a spring follower and coupling it to the spring to suitably guide the at least one firearm cartridge within the casing.
15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein forming the chambering mechanism actuator comprises manufacturing a casing slide that suitably engages the casing and is configured to; slide along the firearm magazine body, engage the chambering mechanism through the at least one slot, and maintain the spring follower in a substantially normal position relative to the casing sidewall.
16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein manufacturing the casing slide further comprises manufacturing the casing slide to; encircle an outer perimeter portion of the casing and comprise ergonomic elements to facilitate the user to slide the casing slide along the length of the casing.
17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein manufacturing the casing slide further comprises manufacturing the casing slide to comprise a lock to maintain the casing slide in a fixed state relative to the casing during reception of the at least one firearm cartridge.
18 . A firearm comprising:
a firearm body having a magazine well to receive a detachable firearm magazine, wherein the firearm magazine comprises; an internal spring to provide a force to a loaded at least one ammunition; a spring follower suitably coupled to the internal spring to facilitate providing the force to the loaded at least one ammunition; and a spring actuator to allow a user to manually manipulate the spring, wherein the spring actuator portion manipulated by the user is configured to not be received by the magazine well.
19 . The firearm of claim 18 , wherein the detachable firearm magazine further comprises a slot that extends longitudinally along the length of the firearm magazine and operates as a guide for the spring actuator.
20 . The firearm of claim 19 , wherein the spring actuator comprises a firearm magazine slide that slides along the slot and is coupled to the internal spring through the slot so that the user can compress the internal spring.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
