Abstract

A method, system and logic cooperate to display presentation content as a presentation content portion of an image displayed at a videoconference endpoint. The presentation content includes at least one of text and graphics. A videoconference endpoint sends an electronic request to a multi-point control unit, MCU, to increase a scale of the presentation content portion of the image displayed at the videoconference endpoint. The MCU changes an encoding of the presentation content to increase the scale of the presentation content portion of the image. The MCU then sends the enhanced presentation stream, which includes the presentation content portion having an increased scale of the image, to the videoconferencing endpoint. A purpose of changing the scale is to improve legibility of content that may be contributed at, and view by others at, a resolution superior to that received by the endpoint requesting the modification of the presentation content.

         2 . A method comprising:
 receiving, at a videoconference endpoint, a first media stream from a multipoint control unit;   sending a request to the multipoint control unit based on the bandwidth for the media stream available to the videoconference endpoint,   wherein the request is a request to increase a scale of a requested portion of the first media stream,   wherein the multipoint control unit changes an encoding of the first media stream to increase the scale of the requested portion from the request to create a second media stream; and   receiving, at the videoconference endpoint, the second media stream including the increased scale of the requested portion from the multipoint control unit.   
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein the bandwidth of the videoconference endpoint renders text of the first media stream difficult to read. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein the increased scale of the requested portion of the second media stream improves readability of text. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 2 , further comprising:
 receiving a selection for content enhancement;   providing divisions of the first media stream in response to the selection for content enhancement; and   receiving a content region selection specifying one of the divisions of the first media stream, wherein the specified division corresponds to requested portion.   
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the content region selection is a touch screen input or a dual-tone multi-frequency (DTMF) signal. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein the requested portion is superimposed on the first media stream to form the second media stream. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 2 , further comprising:
 receiving a selection for content enhancement that defines a region of a first size on a display and transfers the region to a portion of the display having a second size, wherein the second size is larger than the first size.   
     
     
         9 . An apparatus comprising:
 a processor; and   a memory comprising one or more instructions executable by the processor to perform:   receiving, at a videoconference endpoint, a first media stream from a multipoint control unit;   sending a request to the multipoint control unit based on the bandwidth for the media stream available to the videoconference endpoint,   wherein the request is a request to magnify a requested portion of the first media stream,   wherein the multipoint control unit modifies the first media stream to magnify the requested portion from the request to create a second media stream; and   receiving, at the videoconference endpoint, the second media stream including the magnified requested portion from the multipoint control unit.   
     
     
         10 . The apparatus of  claim 9 , wherein the bandwidth of the videoconference endpoint renders text of the first media stream difficult to read. 
     
     
         11 . The apparatus of  claim 9 , wherein the magnified requested portion of the second media stream improves the readability of text. 
     
     
         12 . The apparatus of  claim 9 , further comprising:
 receiving a selection for content enhancement;   providing divisions of the first media stream in response to the selection for content enhancement; and   receiving a content region selection specifying one of the divisions of the first media stream, wherein the specified division corresponds to requested portion.   
     
     
         13 . The apparatus of  claim 12 , wherein the content region selection is a touch screen input or a dual-tone multi-frequency (DTMF) signal. 
     
     
         14 . The apparatus of  claim 9 , wherein the requested portion is superimposed on the first media stream to form the second media stream. 
     
     
         15 . The apparatus of  claim 9 , further comprising:
 receiving a selection for content enhancement that defines a region of a first size on a display and transfers the region to a portion of the display having a second size, wherein the second size is larger than the first size.   
     
     
         16 . A non-transitory computer readable medium including instructions that when executed are configured to cause a processor to:
 send a first media stream from a multipoint control unit to a videoconference endpoint;   receive a request from the videoconference endpoint, wherein the request is based on the bandwidth for the media stream available to the videoconference endpoint,   wherein the request is a request to increase a scale of a requested portion of the first media stream,   modify an encoding of the first media stream to increase the scale of the requested portion from the request to create a second media stream; and   send the second media stream to the videoconference endpoint, the second media stream including the increased scale of the requested portion.   
     
     
         17 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of  claim 16 , wherein the videoconference endpoint is a first videoconference endpoint, the instructions when executed configured to cause the processor to:
 receive a request from a second videoconference endpoint, wherein the request from the second videoconference endpoint requests to increase a scale of a requested portion of the first media stream.   
     
     
         18 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of  claim 17 , the instructions when executed configured to cause the processor to:
 send the second media stream to the second videoconference endpoint when the request from the second videoconference endpoint requests a same increased scale as the request from the first videoconference endpoint.   
     
     
         19 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of  claim 17 , the instructions when executed configured to cause the processor to:
 send a third media stream to the second videoconference endpoint when the request from the second videoconference endpoint requests a different increased scale than the request from the first videoconference endpoint.   
     
     
         20 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of  claim 16 , wherein the requested portion is superimposed on the first media stream to form the second media stream. 
     
     
         21 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of  claim 16 , wherein the request includes an amount to increase the scale of the requested portion of the first media stream.
