Abstract

The invention includes an amount of (3aR)-1,3a,8-trimethyl-1,2,3,3a,8,8a-hexahydropyrrolo[2,3-b]indol-5-yl phenylcarbamate for administering to a subject and also a method of preventing or treating neurotoxicity or neurodegenerative processes in a subject in need thereof using the amount thereof.

An oral pharmaceutical composition comprising Posiphen, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable carrier comprises an enteric coating, and wherein the pharmaceutical composition is for oral administration.

         71 . The oral pharmaceutical composition of  claim 66 , further comprising one or more of an inert diluent, a granulating and disintegrating agent, a binder, a lubricant, excipient, a surface active agent and a dispersing agent. 
     
     
         72 . The oral pharmaceutical composition of  claim 62 , wherein the Posiphen or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is a tartrate salt of Posiphen.
