Abstract
A digital broadcast transmitting/receiving system and a method for processing data are disclosed. The method for processing data may enhance the receiving performance of the receiving system by performing additional coding and multiplexing processes on the traffic information data and transmitting the processed data. Thus, robustness is provided to the traffic information data, thereby enabling the data to respond strongly against the channel environment which is always under constant and vast change.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 36 . (canceled)
37 . A method for transmitting a broadcast signal, the method comprising:
encoding service data to add parity data; grouping the encoded service data into a plurality of groups; interleaving the grouped service data within each group; modulating a frame including the interleaved service data; and transmitting the broadcast signal including the modulated frame,
wherein the frame further includes known data.
38 . The method of claim 37 , wherein the encoded service data are grouped with a predetermined size of bits.
39 . The method of claim 37 , wherein the grouping step is performed with a value related to the interleaving.
40 . The method of claim 37 , wherein the known data are regularly spaced in the frame.
41 . A method for receiving a broadcast signal, the method comprising:
receiving the broadcast signal including a frame, wherein the frame includes service data and known data; demodulating the frame including the service data and the signaling information, wherein the service data are grouped into a plurality of groups; deinterleaving the grouped service data within each group; and decoding the service data.
42 . The method of claim 41 , wherein the grouped service data are grouped with a predetermined size of bits.
43 . The method of claim 41 , wherein the grouped service data is grouped with a value related to interleaving.
44 . The method of claim 41 , wherein the known data are regularly spaced in the frame.
45 . An apparatus for transmitting a broadcast signal, the apparatus comprising:
an encoder to encode service data to add parity data wherein the encoded service data are grouped into a plurality of groups; an interleaver to interleave the grouped service data within each group; a modulator to modulate a frame including the interleaved service data; and a transmitter to transmit the broadcast signal including the modulated frame,
wherein the frame further includes known data.
46 . The apparatus of claim 45 , wherein the encoded service data are grouped with a predetermined size of bits.
47 . The apparatus of claim 45 , wherein the encoded service data are grouped according to a value related to the interleaver.
48 . The apparatus of claim 45 , wherein the known data are regularly spaced in the frame.
49 . An apparatus for receiving a broadcast signal, the apparatus comprising:
a tuner to receive the broadcast signal including a frame, wherein the frame includes service data and known data; a demodulator to demodulate the frame including the service data and the signaling information, wherein the service data are grouped into a plurality of groups; a deinterleaver to deinterleave the grouped service data within each group; and
a decoder to decode the service data.
50 . The apparatus of claim 49 , wherein the grouped service data are grouped with a predetermined size of bits.
51 . The apparatus of claim 49 , wherein the encoded service data are grouped according to a value related to an interleaver.
52 . The apparatus of claim 49 , wherein the known data are regularly spaced in the frame.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
