Secure Distributed Single Action Payment System
Abstract
Methods and systems for enabling and performing secured, single action payments from a mobile device are disclosed. One method includes receiving user credentials at an application installed on a mobile device, and transmitting the user credentials from the mobile device to a server alongside a device identifier. The method includes receiving data at least partially defining encrypted personal payment information and saving the encrypted personal payment information in a memory of the mobile device in association with the application. At least prior to receiving a user request to make a payment via the application, the mobile device lacks a decryption key capable of decrypting the encrypted personal payment information.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 13 . (canceled)
14 . A method of enabling a single action payment for an item at a server communicatively connected to a mobile device, the method comprising:
receiving at the server a set of user credentials and a device identifier associated with the mobile device from an application on the mobile device; transmitting data from a server at least partially defining encrypted personal payment information; and cooperating with the mobile device to decrypt the encrypted personal payment information, wherein the decrypted personal payment information is useable to initiate a payment transaction.
15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein transmitting data from a server at least partially defining encrypted personal payment information includes determining whether the user credentials are associated with a first time user, and, if the user credentials are associated with a first time user, transmitting an encryption key to the mobile device useable to create encrypted personal payment information.
16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein transmitting data from a server at least partially defining encrypted personal payment information further includes, if the user credentials are not associated with a first time user, determining at the server whether the device identifier is associated with a mobile device known to the server, and, if the mobile device is known to the server, indicating to the mobile device to obtain encrypted personal payment information from a second application on the mobile device.
17 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising, if the mobile device is not known to the server:
retrieving encrypted personal payment information from a known device; and transmitting the encrypted personal payment information to the mobile device.
18 . The method of claim 14 , wherein cooperating with the mobile device to decrypt the encrypted personal payment information includes:
receiving encrypted personal payment information from the mobile device; decrypting the encrypted personal payment information at the server; and transmitting the personal payment information to a payment authority, thereby initiating a payment transaction.
19 . The method of claim 14 , wherein cooperating with the mobile device to decrypt the encrypted personal payment information includes transmitting a decryption key to the mobile device, the decryption key capable of use to decrypt the encrypted personal payment information.
20 . A method of paying for an item, the method comprising:
receiving user credentials at an application installed on a mobile device; transmitting the user credentials from the mobile device to a server; receiving data from a server at least partially defining encrypted personal payment information; receiving a request to make payment for an item; transmitting encrypted personal payment information to the server; decrypting the personal payment information at the server; and transmitting the personal payment information from the server to a payment authority, thereby initiating a payment transaction.
21 . A secure distributed single-action payment system comprising:
a mobile device comprising a programmable circuit and a memory, the memory configured to store an application within which payments can be requested, the programmable circuit configured to execute program instructions which, when executed, cause the mobile device to:
receive user credentials at an application installed in the memory of the mobile device;
transmit the user credentials from the mobile device to a server alongside a device identifier; and
save encrypted personal payment information in the memory in association with the application; and
a server communicatively connected to the mobile device, the server configured to execute program instructions which, when executed, cause the server to transmit data at least partially defining the encrypted personal payment information; wherein at least prior to receiving a user request to make a payment via the application, the mobile device lacks a decryption key capable of decrypting the encrypted personal payment information.
22 . The system of claim 21 , wherein, upon receipt of a single action payment indication from a user at the mobile device, the mobile device and the server are configured to cooperate to decrypt the encrypted personal payment information, wherein the decrypted personal payment information is useable to initiate a payment transaction.
23 . The system of claim 21 , further comprising a second device separate from the mobile device, wherein the server is further configured to:
retrieve the encrypted personal payment information from a known device; and transmit the encrypted personal payment information to the mobile device.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
