Abstract
A method of displaying social media data is provided. The method includes accessing stored social media data from a plurality of social media outlets and obtaining social media data having associated context information. The obtained social media data includes at least first social media data from a first social media outlet and second social media data from a second social media outlet. The method includes providing a user interface that displays representations of the first and second social media data as a function of the context information.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A computer-implemented method of displaying social media data, the method comprising:
receiving pushed social media video from a social media outlet; accessing stored social media videos from a social media outlet; and providing a user interface that displays the pushed social media video to allow a user to view the pushed social media video in real time as it is made available and that displays portions of the stored social media videos.
2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , and further comprising:
receiving a user query; and obtaining the social media video from a database based on the user query.
3 . (canceled)
4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , and further comprising:
receiving a selection of at least one of the displayed portions of stored social media video; and displaying additional information pertaining to the selected stored social media video.
5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the user interface further comprises:
a first user interface portion displaying social media data as a function of a first characteristic; and a second user interface portion displaying social media data as a function of a second characteristic.
6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 5 , wherein each of the first and second user interface portions comprise at least one of:
a ticker section that displays social media data temporally; a geographic section that geographically represents a source of social media data; a social media outlet section that indicates from which social media outlets social media data was obtained; a topics section that displays one or more topics related to social media data; a counter section that identifies a number of occurrences of a term or keyword within social media data for a time period; a timeline section that represents a number of occurrences of a term or keyword within social media data over time; a sentiment section that represents user sentiment within social media data.
7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the user interface comprises one or more playback controls for selecting a timeframe for which to display social media data.
8 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , and further comprising:
establishing a bookmark for social media data; and
recalling social media data using the bookmark.
9 . The computer-implemented method of claim 8 , wherein the bookmark is set in response to at least one of:
a user input; and a predefined trigger condition.
10 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the pushed social media video and the portions of the stored social media videos are displayed in the user interface with visual indicia based on one or more characteristics of the social media videos.
11 . The computer-implemented method of claim 10 , wherein the one or more characteristics comprises at least one of a user sentiment within the social media video, a geographic location associated with the social media video, and the social media outlet from which the social media video was obtained.
12 . (canceled)
13 . A social media playback system comprising:
a processor; and processor executable instructions, which, when executed, configure the system to:
access a database storing social media video to retrieve a stored social media video;
receiving pushed social media video as it is made available; and
provide a user interface for rendering the pushed social media video in real time and for rendering the portions of stored social media video.
14 . The social media playback system of claim 13 , further comprising displaying one or more playback controls to control rendering of the retrieved stored social media video, wherein the one or more playback controls enable selection of a time frame for viewing the retrieved social media video.
15 . The social media playback system of claim 14 , wherein the one or more playback controls comprise at least one of: a play control, a stop control, a pause control, a forward control, a reverse control, a slow motion control, and a control to navigate between different videos of the retrieved social media videos.
16 . The social media playback system of claim 14 , wherein the user interface comprises a ticker section that displays social media videos from a time frame selected by the one or more playback controls.
17 . The social media playback system of claim 13 , wherein the retrieved social media videos are is displayed in the user interface as a function of context information associated with the social media videos.
18 . A computer readable storage medium storing instructions which, when executed by a processor, perform a method comprising:
obtaining social media data comprising a video pushed as it is made available from at least one social media outlet; displaying a representation of the video in real time in a user interface; and displaying a representation of at least one other video.
19 . The computer readable storage medium of claim 18 , further comprising displaying additional context information for the at least one other video wherein providing additional context information comprises displaying at least one of an indication of the media outlet from which the message was received, geographic information associated with the message, and user information associated with the message.
20 . The computer readable storage medium of claim 18 , wherein the representations of the at least one other video plurality of messages are displayed as a function of context information associated with the videos.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
